Fire Emblem Warriors on 3DS isn't a bad experience at all, but any gamer with the option of purchasing the Switch version instead would be foolish to pick this up. The lower character count, vastly downgraded graphics and less ergonomic design of the 3DS all factor together to make this a less-worthwhile version of a game that only dedicated Fire Emblem or Dynasty Warriors fans should buy, even in its best state.

Fire Emblem Warriors is one of the best designed musou games of the recent years thanks to its strategy touch, which is great for this genre. If you are thinking about buying this version of the game, go ahead if you don't own a Nintendo Switch, because you will not be disappointed.

Fire Emblem Warriors is, for my mind, the best of the licensed Warriors titles. It was Arslan previously, and I really love Arslan still, but the respect that Fire Emblem Warriors has for its roots, and the way that it's cleverly melded the tactical atmosphere of that series while keeping the pacey action of the Warriors formula, is truly impressive stuff.

There's a bit more to this improbable crossover than just Fire Emblem heroes dropped into a hack and slash frenzy

Wonderful fusion of Musou and Fire Emblem, that is superbly balanced and very extensive.

Fire Emblem Warriors is surely the best musou to grace a console in the last years: the strategic elements taken from the Fire Emblem franchise deepen its gameplay, making it attractive even to non-musou fans.

Fire Emblem Warriors offers a solid hack and slay expierence and performance on the New 3DS. Even if the story won't surprise you that much, the solid cast of the series will. The mix between these two very different genres is well made and fans from both sides will get great time out of it.

Depending on what you're aiming to get out of it, Fire Emblem Warriors is either a very good game or a bore, although either way perhaps not quite justifiable for its price point during the busiest release period of the year.

Fire Emblem Warriors is one of the best designed musou games of the recent years thanks to its strategy touch, which is great for this genre. Even though its story is a little bit dull, de Chronicles mode offers lots of objectives and battles that last hours and hours.

While the story is largely forgettable there's plenty of fan-service for Fire Emblem lovers here; granted, the cast list focuses on the more recent outings on the 3DS, but we imagine that DLC will redress the balance moving forward. Despite the addition of deeper tactics we fear that Fire Emblem Warriors may still be too samey for those who have struggled with Koei Tecmo's franchise in the past, but everyone else should definitely give this a try; it may well be one of the best Musou outings yet seen.

The final result is a great experience which seems much different and deeper than before. A great game that could help you to enjoy the next few weeks before the next big thing comes out.

Despite all the complaints though, I can't help but recommend Fire Emblem Warriors to Warriors fans. If you enjoyed Hyrule Warriors, you'll enjoy this just as much, and if you're not really a Warriors fan, then this probably won't convince you, even if you adore Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem has the potential to make a great partner, but this badly made and painfully simplistic crossover is as disappointingly dumb as all the other Dynasty Warriors games.

Fire Emblem Warriors may lack of variation, and the gameplay can be a bit repetitive – but overall it's a great successor to Hyrule Warriors.

This is the fifth musou game we received this year (after Berserk, Dragon Quest Heroes II, Warriors All Stars and Samurai Warriors Spirit of Sanada) and still we enjoyed its massive combats and RPG elements. Technical elements fall short compared to most Switch games.

The large-scale combat of Dynasty Warriors collides with the heroes and tactics-heavy gameplay of Fire Emblem in a wonderful venture filled with action and ample fan service.

A harmonious meeting of two traditions, Fire Emblem Warriors explores a different, yet no less beguiling, type of battlefield strategy.

Fire Emblem's heroes are a natural fit for a Warriors game, but their world adds little depth to the aging and shallow hack-and-slash series.

If you hate the musou games, Fire Emblem Warriors will hardly make you change your mind about the genre, but for everyone else it's a strongly recommended game thanks to its tactical and strategic elements.
