If you can look past the steep difficulty curves, unimpressive visuals and unwieldy controls, then you will find a deep and compelling historical strategy experience that will keep you engaged for many weeks.

Numantia is a small game that tries to be something bigger and fails. It has good ideas but the scope seems to be bigger than what the studio can handle. Although it is a nice game about a really interesting period of time.

Despite the nerve to tell a little-known - but fascinating - story, and some good ideas in the managerial department, Numantia suffers from a general lack of polish, mostly from the low-budget production. The combat system is still pretty good, and a challenging one. If you love history and hexagons that mix strategy and RPG, Numantia could be worth a chance.

Numantia's setting is unique, the story is interesting and allows you to make important choices, and the gameplay is challenging and strategic.

The historical strategy game's enjoyable combat is let down by some frustrating bugs, and a tutorial that rushes through itself. In the end, Numantia really does feel like it needs one or two more rounds of good polish. Still, if you're a fan of hex-based combat and you're willing to push through all those issues, there's a good game lying beneath.

A traditional turn-based strategy about the war between ancien Rome and the city on Numantia. It's a good game but aimed at ancien history afficionados.

Numantia has really impressed me in the way that it has inspired me to learn more about the conflict it depicts, and it has done a really good job of accurately recreating the surprisingly varied range of battles, locations, and twists and turns that occurred through the war.

Despite having a not-so-well-explored story and small problems that can interfere with the pace at which it is played, Numantia is undoubtedly a great and addictive strategy game. Many players will spend hours and hours, while the more curious ones will discover great stories that have not been properly presented to the world.

Maybe those well versed in RTS games will kick the Romans aside in their stride, but I personally struggled more than I would have liked to. Thankfully Numantia has a lot more to offer that just a difficulty spike. Its historical accuracy and decision system were more than enough to keep me coming back time and time again.

A historically accurate setting for a great player-driven story from two sides, Numantia has a great narrative backed by an enjoyable and tactical combat system. Unfortunately, flaws appear almost everywhere in this game, bogging down some of the better ideas and making combat and the campaign unintuitive and frustrating.
