Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth Reviews
A beautiful medieval adventure that uses real history and interesting characters to tell a compelling story.
Ken Follet’s The Pillars of the Earth is an excellent novel packed into a stunning point-and-click adventure. While it may be on the slower side for some, it’s certainly a story that I would recommend to others. With heavy subject matter set in the 12th-century of England, it can come across as dark and almost somber. But the moments of humor and triumph are well worth the play through.
The most notable quality of The Pillars of the Earth is that you'll end wanting to read the original Ken Follett novel. In the 24-ish hours required to reach the end of the game, below a slow pace and a pretty basic gameplay, you'll find a great story and an excellent narrative.

With an interesting story and attractive art style, it's hard to get tired of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth. Even if you've already read the novel or seen the miniseries, being able to interact with the characters, explore its 12th Century English setting, and shape the narrative provides a new thrill. As far as visual novel adventures go, this one is hard to put down.
The Pillars of the Earth weaves a fascinating tale and does so with superb style.
We could talk about interactive book, but it won't be enough, we could talk about graphic novel, but it won't be enough. Is a particular narrative project, inheritance of the great story of Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth.

Overall, I absolutely loved The Pillars of the Earth. With its beautiful score, deeply developed cast of characters, excellent voice acting, and stunning artwork, this massive work of historical fiction has been brought to life in incredible, addictive detail. While slow at times, it’s nowhere near as slow as the several decades the story encompasses, and the slow burn is more than worth it. Trust me. I’m a historical fiction convert now. In fact, I have to head off now to finish reading the novel. And then on to the rest of the trilogy.
If you don’t mind the sometimes glacial pacing of the adventure aspects, the art and story here are top-tier within the space

Pillars of the Earth is a visually stunning game with a deep, immersive story. It's light on actual gameplay, and the slow pace may lose some players' interest early on. Still, it's a solid point-and-click adventure with an interesting setting.
Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth is hurt by the actual story unraveling too slowly, even for a prologue. If you’re a fan of dramas and have some time to spare, The Pillars of the Earth might be the choice to break the monotony from regular run and gun games.
Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth is one of the best episodic adventure games. Also it the best book to game conversion I've experienced. It's full of murder, revenge, redemption, backstabbing, and misfortune. It ends brilliantly setting up the episode to come. Can't wait for the second one.

Daedalic Entertainment's Pillars of the Earth is basically a virtual book that only differs from the paper original in its scope. Beyond that, it brings an equally strong story, supported by a dense atmosphere.
