It may not deliver the most polished racing experience, or the most nuanced driving model, but where else is a player going to experience a race that goes from sports cars to powerboats to off-road rally cars in a single run?

Great idea, great map, less good driving physics and integration of the game world: The Crew 2 fails because of itself, but could still improve on itself with upcoming DLC.

It may be flawed, but there's a ton of content and the base game is still fun to play , so I'm still recommending this to fans of the genre.

It's hard to ignore the unsavoury taste that comes along with The Crew 2's social media-based progression system. That being said, most people will accept that it's just a somewhat topical stand-in for an experience point system – and skip through all of the awful vlogger posturing and horrid presentation – to find at its heart a knockabout arcade racer with the capacity to make you smile.

The Crew 2 did a good job on improving the original game. It's a little bit more of everything, and the new road/sea/air feature offers a lot of fun and variety. Some new race categories are much better than others however (the bike races are particularly bad), and the driving controls are still basic compared to what we can expect from a 2018 racing game.

A great driving game, a poor racing game. Has some technical issues involving controller support and their idea of multiplayer is somewhat unusual for this genre. A game I would happily spend more time with, but can't recommend highly in its current state.

It may sound repetitive to say but The Crew 2 is another incompelete experience deleivered by Ubisoft. The new installment is improved in many aspects but the lack of the pvp multiplayer till December, poor physics and a cheesy plot still hunts the dreams of becoming a successful franchise.

With Ubisoft's newfound focus on making singular games into long-standing experiences, there is hope that The Crew 2 gets better. In the here and now, it is a very difficult game to recommend. The use of multiple vehicles and presence of different disciplines is grand, but it doesn't help that the physics and handling for some of the vehicles feels off. The open world remains impressive but less so when there's barely anything fun to do. Although it's designed for constant online play, good luck trying to find someone who stays long enough for you to engage with, let alone someone who can witness the sweet decal job on your vehicle. It may get better in a year's time, but for now, The Crew 2 is more of a chore than an enjoyable experience.

The Crew 2 does what it does with solid assuredness. It's just a shame that what it does is so bland and middle of the road.

Despite significant progress in comparison with the first game, The Crew 2 has a number of problems with graphics, weak AI, lack of PVP modes... Always online and races on the planes are also disappointing elements. But even so, you can spend hundreds of hours in The Crew 2 and have a lot of fun.

If you look at sales figures for The Crew 2 recently, you would've noticed that it hasn't been performing particularly well considering the amount of money that went into PR, advertisements and sponsorships.

This title may have some problems, but the freedom that's in offer combined with a cohesive driving system manage to make a fun experience. And although there are shortcomings in the story and Free-roam sections, the ability to choose from a vast amount of options while playing the game, surely offer amusing hours for the Gamer. If developers would have focused on the story and other fore-mentioned areas as much as they did on having many numbers of options, we would be facing a very complete racing experience. But even so, it is still very possible to thoroughly enjoy Crew 2 and remember it for a long time.

Its great for those who are really into collecting and experiencing different vehicle types, but aside from that, it’s not a game that’ll keep you coming back for more. The teams at Ivory Tower need to release some major updates and events if they want to keep this game afloat. Until then, The Crew 2 just barely chugs along.

Throw in some odd design choices, a dull story, and lukewarm presentation and The Crew 2 is an ambitious game that doesn't achieve its potential, nor does it approach the standard of some other open-world racers available today.

The Crew 2 is a worthy successor to the original game. It's not perfect, but still good enough to keep you entertained for a long time and in time, it's only gonna get bigger. You have to accept some shortcomings that hamper the game somewhat, though.

The Crew 2 is fast, fun and offers a flexible gameplay experience. But, a sense of imbalance throughout the game causes it to be a bit of a rough ride.

The PS4 is kind of renowned for its dearth of decent racing titles, particularly after the disappointment of both Driveclub and Gran Turismo: Sport failing to live up to expectations. It's unlikely that The Crew 2 is going to change this perception in any meaningful way but it can't be denied that it is a fun little diversion for racing fans.

Ubisoft didn't fix anything that was wrong about The Crew, and instead made a game similar to Steep. But without beautiful snow and funny fails.
