The Crew 2 is an improvement over its predecessor in most ways. It is truly a gearhead's playground, with plenty of customization and tweaking options, combined with arcade gameplay to give a more relaxed feeling. Rubber-banding AI can be annoying to deal with, an issue which is more evident in some events, like street races, than in others. Despite some flaws, The Crew 2 is a fun rush of whatever kind of racing players desire.

The Crew 2 is certainly interesting from a technical stand point with how instant such an expansive open world runs, it just feels empty not having any sort of narrative structure.

The Crew 2 outperforms its predecessor in almost all aspects. New disciplines, vehicles and better graphics join a cooperative multiplayer really fun that we have attached to the title for weeks.

The Crew 2 is a great game, of that there’s no doubt, however thanks to its lack of PVP, awkward menus and long load times, it can on occasion be a frustrating experience. Still, there are not many open world racers on PS4, so until there is a must-have, The Crew 2 will remain the best option out there.

The Crew 2 is not a bad game but it does not deserve the investment it requires. Buy Onrush, Wreckfest instead of this. Or better, wait for Forza Horizon 4.

The Crew 2 has a lot of potential, but its great graphics and sound design doesn’t make up for its lack of content, lack of online multiplayer and weak AI. Maybe it’ll get better via monthly updates as the previous version did, but at the moment, The Crew 2 is not much superior to its predecessor.

The Crew 2 expands its borders with the addition of air and aquatic racing thrown in the mix with iconic US cities and enjoyable online play with friends and many ways to race throughout a sprawling map.

The Crew 2 comes off as appealing when looking at a spec sheet of what it has to offer.

Despite its satisfying core loops and drip-feeding of loot slathered in mechanical jargon, it's hard to recommend The Crew 2 based on what many would consider to be its selling points. The world is barren despite being billed as a greatest hits of American landmarks and 'car feel' itself is frustratingly basic and holds your hand far too much. The interconnectivity did its best to compel me to stick with it but The Crew 2 is a sad case of wasted potential.

The sequel is a total mixed bag, filled with odd design choices and pointless campaign race that don't match the tone.

The Crew 2 improves its initial idea with the presence of new vehicles and modes that make us enjoy land, sea and air. It is not perfect, but it will entertain those who want to enjoy speed without regard. And for those who want to tour the United States economically and simply.

No matter the element, The Crew 2 is a fantastic vehicle in which to master the ins and outs of speed. It's just a pity that Ubisoft's new world of varied racing disciplines feels hollow and uneven as it won't hold your attention for very long in its current incarnation.

The Crew 2 still isn't fully delivering the ambitious open-world racer that Ivory Tower nor Ubisoft wants the series to become, and I can't help but feel it's because it's trying to accommodate both the single-player and multiplayer camps. Its single-player content, while fun, lacks any real impact due to its literally non-existent story, and its the absence of any PvP feels like a massive missed opportunity.

Maybe sometime next year The Crew 2 will start to feel like the sequel we all deserve, but as it stands right now, it certainly doesn't.

The Crew 2 feels like a missed opportunity for Ubisoft after what was a decent start for the franchise in 2014. It's a racing game with some interesting ideas, but the new main additions frankly aren't entertaining enough and there's too much of a focus on quantity over quality.

Basically, no matter what floats your boat, there's a good chance that The Crew 2 has it. And that's why I can't help but love it. Warts and all.

The Crew 2 has a beautiful open world, but average driving, strange design choices and weak multiplayer prevent it from utilizing it to its full potential.

The Crew 2 is a whisker away from being a great game. You can spend an entire afternoon just enjoying the cars and driving without a specific purpose, while taking in some of the marvelous views, and it feels really good. However, the major downsides – ubiquitous copy-pasting and a rather scanty number of genuine innovations – don't allow me to recommend this game to absolutely everyone; not just yet.

Despite the bolstered vehicular options and the novelty of beaching a boat in Central Park, sadly there’s just not enough here to keep you on the starting grid.
