To note, I played through gradual levels of difficulty, and none of which had an effect on how well you shoot. The difficulty level only determines how good the opposing team plays. Despite these, playing matches and especially playing with your friends at home are still loads of fun. Games like these make amazing party games and are best played during free moments wherein you’re just looking to relax.

Contrary to what you would think of EA, they listened to criticism and delivered a smoother and better experience than FIFA 18. It is just a shame there is no Journey mode in this version.

The beautiful game is brought to life in the virtual world yet again with this well presented and visually appealing football game. FIFA 19 is taking a step in the right direction after some time as the technically inferior football game as compared to its only rival. The Journey draws to a somewhat satisfying close, but Goalkeepers are still a blundering phenomenon. However, the gameplay improvements on the rest of the pitch, new editions, and the Champions League are much welcomed and long awaited.

FIFA 19 is EA's most realistic football game yet. It offers a great variety of various gameplay modes, but it still has some quirks that could stand to be changed. Despite that, it's a great title that will keep its owners entertained for tens or even hundreds of hours.

It’s still running on a custom engine which means that whilst it lacks some of the features of other FIFA 19 variants, improvements over last year’s edition on the Switch are very welcome and noticeable, offering a great experience. Arguably the BEST handheld football title yet. If you don’t own FIFA 18 and want a football game, then this is for you.

All in all, I legitimately liked the game more than I expected - and it gives me another game I'm able to play with my toddler. While I wont be rushing out to buy 2020 version of the game, I may actually consider picking it up if I see it at a good price, where as previously this is not something I would have ever considered at all. However, at the end of the day - this is a game aimed towards a specific market, and unless you are a part of that market, it isn't a game I would necessarily recommend to purchase.

FIFA 19 offers amusing story, better ball control and great presentation. But also schematic AI and some game modes need improvements.

If I were to name a single significant change, this would be the one. I don't know how users are going to react, but I'm willing to bet that in six months after everyone got accustomed to it, FIFA 19 is going to be named the best in the series by the people who are playing it.

Sometimes it feels fresh and quite different, but you'll realize it's the same old FIFA once you get used to it.

From the newly-added UEFA Champions League mode, to the updated online that now lets you play with friends, there's plenty to see and do. The top-tier gameplay feels fluid and crisp, the visual upgrades are noticeable, and having the Fifa experience portable is a great feeling. For those who want more than the standard Career modes or love diving into the Ultimate Team this version might not be for you, but if those aren't deal breakers, then Fifa 19 on the Switch is a fantastic way to get your soccer fix.

Even though we did not get any major improvements on Pro Clubs and Career Mode, but the great new animations that made the gameplay more realistic and natural, and the custom tactics the players can make so they don't need to pause the game added a lot the the fun Fifa has. Plus the detailed stats that the game recorded for you and your friends when you play locally makes it more intense when you play with your friends because you know everything is recorded.

FIFA has its ups and downs, going through years when the company seems to care more about swaying grass and player celebrations than tactics or responsiveness. Happily, FIFA 19 is one of the good ones.

FIFA 19 is an impressive continuation of the series, which tweaks the experience in different places and once again offers players a plethora of modes to enjoy.

While in the last few years, FIFA games have been focused on making flashy, headline improvements in terms of modes or presentation, FIFA 19 instead chooses to make those improvements on the pitch. Off the pitch, there's not quite as much to talk about (other than the excellent House Rules Kick-Off matches), which is obviously a little disappointing, but thanks to a consciously slowed down pace and much more involved and methodical on-pitch gameplay, FIFA 19 proves to be a solid upgrade, and an excellent simulation of the beautiful game.

This is definitely a good soccer game. It's just not as good as it could be. It should be immediately apparent, due to a lack of modes, if this game isn't for you. For that reason, I might suggest renting the game before jumping in feet first.

All together now, and sing "THE CHAMPIONS!" EA Vancouver returns to the pitch with 19. Joining the party this year is a contest of the highest order; a notable omission that is now front-and-center in another well done entry.
