Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Reviews
Overall, Thronebreaker is a revolutionary game within the CCG genre, and I hope other companies take note. With a 40-hour story to support an engaging card game, there's nothing else quite like it, and its unique nature is to its overall benefit. It's made me realize how much I can and do enjoy card games when they're done right. I always loved the idea of CCGs, but it often takes a lot of time and grinding to get up to par with others. CD Projekt Red remedies this by slowly teaching the complexities of Gwent to the player with an engaging plot to keep players enthralled all the way through. It's time to take all my hard-earned rewards and experience gained in Thronebreaker and have my ego obliterated by a horde of Nekkers controlled by a 13-year-old kid — and I couldn't be more excited.
The console version stands up to its PC counterpart

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales tells a good story with some fantastic writing. The writing alone is worth the price of admission, but the Gwent combat can get confusing and overwhelming at times.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a very well done game, has an impeccable location (dubbing), and it fuses the genre of RPG and card game very well. Within the universe of The Witcher, addressing so many ethical issues and with so many decisions to make, finding out what will be the end between the 20 available is more interesting by the hour. It's a beautiful game, full of details, animations and interactions that make the gameplay a great experience.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an innovative game that combines traditional card games with RPG games, and the game has been able to bring new and interesting characters into the rich Witcher world, with good graphics and a constantly renewed fighting style. I can say that Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales surprised me Personally, it is a card game but suffers from some drop in the frame rate and freezing of the unwarranted screen. The game may give preference to those who play Gwent: The Witcher Card Game by winning special cards as they progress in the game they can use in the Gwent game.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales features some of the sharpest writing on PS4, and it's all embedded within a superb story stuffed with brilliant characters. Meanwhile, Gwent makes up most of the gameplay, and although the card-based system does have flaws, it's easy enough to look past them when the surrounding journey is so masterfully told. Ultimately, Thronebreaker is an easy recommendation for Witcher enthusiasts and fans of strategic RPGs -- a surprisingly robust and rich tale that shouldn't be overlooked.
Thronebreaker isn’t completely the Gwent I knew and loved, but after learning the new rules and ways I found myself having fun. For all about ten to thirty minutes before I was crashed back to the PS4 dashboard with a blue screen. Not in all my life had I experienced a title die like this before and actually make me worry about the health of my gaming console. Art design, voice acting, and the basic traversal around the world did a great job bringing a simple card game to life. It’s just that all of them were smothered by the color blue.
As to why or how, again, perhaps this is due to the nature of GWENT and trying to balance difficulty once the sheer variety and number of competing strategies and decks come into play. Whatever the reasons though no doubt it comes from creating an RPG story-driven game unlike anything else out there. One that features one of the best interactive bits of fiction this side of The Witcher III – with a flawed, interesting, and awe-inspiring protagonist in the form of Meve. No doubt, we can't wait to check out the next Witcher Tale.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a worthy successor to both The Witcher games and the Gwent collectible card game.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the next patch fixes this particularly nasty bug. Don't you worry. I reported pretty much every single one of these. My pain will hopefully be your gain.
Thronebreaker is a masterful RPG with a version of Gwent that is well-suited for a single-player experience. Even if you aren't into card games, this one is worth a try for the story and RPG mechanics alone. [OpenCritic note: Travis Northup separately reviewed the PC (85) and Xbox One (80) versions. Their scores have been averaged.]
Strong single-player campaign for Gwent, which could inspire even non-card players through its gripping story.

With Thronebreaker : The Witcher Tales, Gwent evolves through an exciting adventure that brilliantly enriches the Witcher universe in video games. We regret, however, the classicism of sometimes painful exploration phases.

An exquisite combination of deep storytelling and refined card game combat mechanics, Thronebreaker delivers an exceptional RPG experience that not many developers can achieve these days. It's a pity that Geralt's saga has ended after just three games, but Thronebreaker is definitely going to quench your thirst for anything The Witcher related, at least for a while.
