Rainswept Reviews
Ultimately, Rainswept has a good story to tell. A sad story, one of grief, loss, murder and small-town cruelty.
Rainswept is a heavy game. Its sad piano music and endless poetic rainfall underscoring the human tragedy depicted. If you're capable of shouldering the game's baggage, Rainswept provides an "entertaining" tale. I certainly "enjoyed" it. However, if what you're looking for is a fun murder mystery to sink your teeth into, you might be better off seeking clues elsewhere.
Rainswept might be the first game to learn from Kentucky Route Zero not only aestethically, but also in terms of direction. All things considered, it tells a simple story, but it does so in a way that shows remarkable sensitivity, a talent for writing, and above all a very uncommon attention to the overall direction of scenes. It may not be as revolutionary as its source of inspiration, but it certainly has something to say.

Rainswept is an adventure with a promising introduction and a completely disappointing ending. Standard chewing gum and popcorn for the modern brain that requires visual and psychological enjoyment.

Rainswept has an interesting plot, well-written characters and a distinctive visual style, although a few bugs and overly simplistic gameplay do let it down a bit.
Rainswept has a good beginning, and is successful in introducing it characters and their stories. However, the flaws in storytelling and gameplay waste this beginning and prevent the game from reaching an acceptable level.

Rainswept delivers an engaging and often touching story, but its dated visuals, lack of worthwhile gameplay and disappointing conclusion leave it in a somewhat muddy puddle.
"Its clunky controls, odd character design, and clumsy animations are too measurable to be ignored. If you’re looking for a challenging, Sherlock-esque game, this is probably not for you, but if you’re looking for an emotional narrative about love and loss, it’s worth the small time investment (5 or so hours)"
If you're looking for something with a slower pace and a story with some somber notes and rough spots a good murder mystery may be your jam...
Rainswept presents a story of love, trust and hope in the midst of chaos. Even with the game leading us to the conclusion that seems to be the most obvious, it is inevitable to get attached to the characters and their life stories in such a short time, both for the couple and the detective. Because it deals with heavy but delicately crafted topics, some players may feel uncomfortable at certain times. The title is presented in an extremely simple way, but its emotional baggage is not made for any player to carry.

Rainswept was a great surprise. The deep, meaningful, story around mental health that doesn't make it some evil idea, is refreshing. Though not perfect, it is definitely memorable.
Although it’s not without its faults, Rainswept was a powerful story to me.
Rainswept is a compelling effort. It's a heartfelt game that does its best to portray the messiness of relationships and the damage that trauma can do if left to fester.
