A great, if disjointed, continuation of the demon killing franchise. Visually stunning, tight controls and satisfying combat make for an exciting and enjoyable experience.

Doom Eternal is completely badass. The soundtrack, the level design, the combat – it all comes together to create a package of adrenaline-fueled rage and destruction. Put simply, it's the best first-person shooter of this generation.

Doom Eternal is a hellishly frantic shooter that puts me closer to heart attack levels than I care to admit — and I love every second of it.

Doom Eternal is one of the best FPS that exists today. We can even say that it far exceeds the original. However, not everything shines with the same intensity; the story is confusing and unnecessary, the platform sections are tedious, the new visual identity is generic. In general, you can notice a change of direction towards a game as a service for the wrong reasons. Doom Eternal finds himself caught in the eternal conflict of finding his own identity.

Zero doubts if you think about acquiring DOOM Eternal on Xbox One. Tear apart and tear apart.

DOOM Eternal is, probably, the fastest and most brutal shooter on the market. But reworked combat system, a lot of (not so fluent) platforming elements and some other small issues here and there are keeping the sequel from beating the almost perfect DOOM 2016.

The concept of "push-forward combat" is even better this time around, forcing you to be in the moment every moment.

As the credits rolled after a final boss fight to remember, all we had in our minds was “that was epic”. And that’s exactly what DOOM Eternal is: epic.

Doom Eternal absolutely delivers on all-fronts by blasting us with one of the most intense and satisfying single-player shooter campaigns in years.

It's not for nothing that Doom Eternal is one of the best shooters of recent years. In addition to a perfect story campaign, it also offers a fast-paced, fast-paced gameplay, which is enhanced by a beautiful graphic coat and a synthetic, predatory and musically charged soundtrack by Mick Gordon. You'll equally appreciate the excellent firearms arsenal, in which every weapon has its use on the battlefield, the elaborate locations, and the plethora of diverse, perfectly designed monsters whose elimination through the brutal but playful and occasionally humorous Glory Killy you'll truly enjoy. This is a modern shooter, as it should be.

DOOM Eternal is the perfect example of a great video game sequel. It remains true to what makes the series great, but knows where to implement new tweaks to it’s systems to keep things fresh and interesting. The combination of it’s fast paced combat, satisfying weapons and fantastic musical score makes it one of the most rewarding games of recent years and continues to be fun even on consecutive playthroughs. If the series does receive a third entry I would love to see a slight changeup to both it’s platforming sections and it’s story telling, but even with things the way they are, DOOM Eternal is still one of the best first person shooter games on the market now.

DOOM Eternal is the quintessence of the shooter, a new starting point for the genre and a clear candidate for the game of the year 2020. Never an uncertainty, never a doubt, the game id Software and Bethesda convinces and amazes from beginning to end, offering the player dozens of hours of content, evolving the previous chapter into a practically almost perfect product, where gameplay, level design, soundtrack come together in a surprising qualitative combination.

The feeling that id Software really looked at what made the first DOOM games good is nice. With DOOM Eternal, they have created a game that is not only good for the current standard of games, but also looks back very respectfully at what made the past so good. The combination of these makes for a success formula that we will hopefully see more of in the future. There are more ways than ever before to take on the mortally challenged army.

After DOOM 16 became such a big hit, winning awards from all publications, there were obvious expectations to top themselves with the sequel, more weapons, more glory kills, ballsier enemies, essentially making the whole game Bigger, and Better. Well…..they got the Bigger part down.

Eternal is better, faster and stronger than the 2016 game, but also feels like it tries to do too much in an effort to improve the shortcomings of the first game. That being said is great that they took the story a little more seriously and also brings new ideas for the future of the franchise.

Doom Eternal is a worthy addition to the Doom franchise and it does take it forward with a number of well-implemented elements. You can try hard to find reasons to complain to in the game, but the game will keep you hooked up throughout the roughly-15 hours of ruthless gameplay. Whether you are a fan of the franchise or not, there is no reason why you shouldn't try out this game.

Doom Eternal represents the natural evolution of its predecessor, replicating all those aspects that we enjoyed in 2016 and combining them with new and successful mechanics, which greatly improve the flow of the game and the strategic aspect.
