Sea of Solitude makes one o the better and more realistic recreations of some mental issues that are more common that most people think.

Trough a world of monsters and fantasy, Sea of Solitude tells a story about real problems that never get enough attention, specially in video games. It's like looking into the soul of another person.

I wish I could say that Sea of Solitude excels in every way a game can. Though it offers an honest, raw depiction of how unfortunately disparate life can be and the toil that goes with that, it fires few shots as an interactive experience. A rather barren world and repetitive core loops only serve to mar what is an otherwise overwhelming sensory treat.

Sea Of Solitude is the perfect example that a small studio like Jo-Mei Games can develop a great title that sets a precedent and becomes an indispensable if a large company like EA reaches out. Emotional, intense and precious... depression can have a good ending, if you can discover your light.

The audia visual presentation in Sea of Solitude is fantastic, it is an artistic experience that was put together beautifully. The storytelling is weak though, it should have been more subtle to go along with the artistic direction. also, the voice acting couldn't express the character's feelings very well.

Sea of Solitude, which can be completed in about five or six hours, depending on the emphasis you put on finding all collectibles, does not risk the playable, but is also solid in this section and, therefore, becomes an essential work for lovers of good stories

While it might not offer you the diversity in gameplay to keep you entertained till the end, the game will successfully get you attached to Kay and her emotional journey.

If it isn’t obvious already, SOS may not have the challenges of wide open worlds like the Witcher series, but it does everything it set out to do and it did it with flying colors.

Even with the thin gameplay mechanics and small bits of narrative logic that felt off, its world, characters, and story grew on me. It is truly heartwarming when a piece of media, especially video games for all their interactivity, embrace subjects such as loneliness and mental illness. Our society still deals with problems of stigma, which in turn creates barriers for those who want to reach out for help but are afraid to ask. Video games, and art as a whole, have the remarkable power to move and inspire one another, to encourage inner strength and find our voice; Sea of Solitude is one of those hopeful experiences.

Sea of Solitude is an emotional journey in which we help giant creatures come to terms with their issues and resolve them. Whereas the game feels like it’s taken great inspiration from silent indie titles, such as RiME, this game provides spoken narrative in order to tell its story, a story which a lot of us can relate to. For a game encased within symbolism, metaphors, hidden meanings, and the personification of emotions, the whole aesthetic and art style of the game are beyond stunning – thanks to the simplist nature of the visuals combined with the complexity of the design. Taking around four to five hours to complete, even longer if you wish to find all of the collectables, I feel this is the perfect length as it tells its story with great pacing.

Sea of Solitude is a fun and entertaining indie title that is definitely worth your time. It's not very long, but what it lacks in hours, to makes up for in interesting and varied gameplay, as well as a compelling story.

Sea of Solitude is a family psychology class before it is a video game. The things you will encounter throughout your experience are something you have seen in today's societies and are quite understandable and tangible. In my opinion, along with all the games of AAA action, adventure, scary, racing and so on, these are the most important 3 hours any player can experience. Never miss it.

Taking only three or four hours to complete, Sea of Solitude is a lovely, thought-provoking adventure game with a compelling narrative and smooth gameplay. It’s a worthy addition to anyone’s game library.

A wondrous world and keenly felt themes are slighted by unsubtle writing.

Sea of Solitude stands out as heartfelt, almost painfully sincere, so much so that I hesitated to actually put a score on this review at all. It felt almost crass to do so, like being allowed to read a relative's diary, only to give it a thumbs-up or -down. Though engaging gameplay and meaningful messaging aren't mutually exclusive in games, Sea of Solitude is squarely one of a growing number of titles that challenges the notion that "fun and entertainment" should be a game's main priority in every case.

While Kay's emotional journey of self-discovery does not pull punches as she learns why she has become a lonely monster, Sea of Solitude struggles to stay afloat at times due to unimaginative gameplay that struggles to evolve beyond the opening moments of the game.

Sea of Solitude is a deeply personal experience, but it carries the nervousness of a studio desperate not to be misunderstood, delivering this allegory via spoon-feeding.

Compelling voicework and contrasting visuals define this game as more of an experience than a challenge. If you are willing to overlook the few gameplay features in favour of an impactful story, however, Sea of Solitude is definitely worth playing through.
