Anyone who hasn't played the original should pick this up just to experience Link's Awakening in its most graphically impressive form, and anyone who fondly remembers the original should pick this up too just to take a wonderful trip down memory lane.
I found playing through a modern imagining of this classic to be almost perfect. While it doesn’t reinvent the franchise or break convention, it never acts like it wants to. There’s something comforting about returning to a world like this: to know its every corner, to recognize its colorful cast, to feel truly lost in the experience.
Link's Awakening was a massive hit when it was first released, and today it's still just as amazing as it was 26 years ago.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a masterpiece in remaking the original classic game. It perfectly brings back the old school gameplay of the 90s with modern tech. Even if you had played the original game a long time ago, this one will shock you again.

This remake of the classic 1993 adventure isn’t as polished as I expected, sporting a new physics system and camera angle that introduce entirely new problems. It’s wonderful to think that Link’s Awakening on the Switch will introduce one of Link’s most intriguing adventures to a new generation, but it’s obvious that the goal was to replicate the aesthetics rather than the feel.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is everything a remake should be. It retains the nostalgia of the original game while celebrating it in an entirely new way. The map is small but dense, filled with side quests, interesting character designs, and a surprising moral dilemma. This charming, toy-like world is the perfect way to experience Koholint Island, regardless of it's your first visit or your 50th time washing ashore.
"The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" proves to be a charming remake with a modern look and the popular game mechanics of the original. Once again, the mystical island of Cocolint will be the setting for puzzles, research and immersion in a world full of wondrous creatures. Although "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" has a contemporary look, connoisseurs of the classic will quickly recognize the individual locations and enemies. Only the dungeon editor still lets air up and offers a rather entertaining pleasure. Zelda lovers and retro fans can indulge in nostalgia with "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" and should not miss this title.

It's a damning reflection on the entire industry, in terms of the respect that it shows for the artistry of video games, that a remake, rather than a re-release, was ever even contemplated as the way to give people renewed access to this classic.
This is old-school Zelda the way you’d like to remember it.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is just as magical as it ever was, and, in being remade, has lost none of the charm that made the original so special in the first place.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is an excellent remake of an already enamoured classic, translating its unorthodox approach to a traditional Zelda outing into the modern day with absolute ease. Even after two decades and change, it still plays like a dream and looks even better thanks to its adorable diorama visuals.
This is a remake of one of the best Game Boy titles and you shouldn't expect much more than that.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening it's a phenomenal remake of a timeless classic. Grezzo took everything that made the original great and implemented lots of quality of life improvements that make it a joy to play. It also has a great art direction that took our breath away. We can't wait to play more remakes like this one in the future.
