For those who are fans of this kind of colorful, semi-abstract, exaggerated style of visuals, Knights and Bikes lives up to the promise of reflecting both the silly as much the sincere side of two friends off on an adventure.

Knights and Bikes is one of the few games that you really want to play, but after 20 minutes you realize that it's all beautiful, cute, but boring. So you nod your head sadly, save your progress, and go to the main menu to come back in a couple of weeks and try again. And after a year or two, you can put a check mark that the game is over, when it suddenly becomes a cultural phenomenon. Or not.

Knights and Bikes is a solid experience for those who are young or young at heart. The characterization and art are top-notch. While the puzzling is rather thin, the combat is hectic and exciting. Overall, Knights and Bikes focuses on its charming cast and telling a story for the whole family.

Knights and Bikes is a fun, frantic, top-down adventure game with some light puzzle and combat elements that I imagine would be more appreciated by either a younger crowd or a parent playing with their kid. If you're looking for a solid co-op adventure, this can easily fill the void. Even solo it's still fun enough to be worth a look. Just be ready for a few awkward moments, and a seriously terrible UI.

Knights and Bikes did entirely not captivate me. That said, its sincere leading characters and exquisite art are certainly aspects to be admired.

The charm that covers nearly every inch of this game is also infectious, especially as this medium can better actualize its main characters’ imagination into something playable.

We'd talk about Knights and Bikes more if it managed to fulfili its full potential, but unfortunately it didn't. Still, it's pretty fun when you play with someone you love.

Knights and Bikes may not be an epic AAA game but it has some originality and fun to offer nonetheless. Strap on your helmet and take a relaxing ride with two quirky kids whose touching friendship will take you back to your own youthful innocence.

Knights and Bikes tells a touching, albeit overlong, coming of age story about friendship and grief.

It’s clear that there was a strong, central vision for what Knights and Bikes should be, as it shines through in the writing, the artwork, and all of the extra little touches. This is a game about the pleasures and predicaments of childhood; it’s about family, friends, and connection; it’s about navigating a world as a person with goals, thoughts, and feelings that aren’t always taken seriously by the people around you. There’s a lot to discover about Knights and Bikes as you play, and the experience is one worth having firsthand. It’s a whimsical, joyful, sweet adventure that deals with some very heavy subject matter but manages to stay positive in the face of difficulty in the way that only a child really can.

GREAT - Foam Sword came up with a wonderful little game in Knights and Bikes. Playing the game really makes you feel like you are exploring the island through the eyes of the kids. Anyone who enjoyed The Goonies as well as adventure RPGs should not pass this one up.

If you find yourself in that potential situation, relish it like you would the end of summer before school starts again. If single-player is the only way you'll be able to play Knights and Bikes, maybe take heed; solo play is less enjoyable experience even if the overall charm and presentation is wowing. This is a fun video game, but it's optimally meant for two-player adventures.

Knights and Bikes tells the tale of Demelza and Nessa as they uncover a story, battle a curse, and deal with the almost inevitable closure of Demelza's fathers business. Luckily for adventure game fans, there is a lot to love in this charming game that pays a substantial homage to some of the best coming of age adventure films of the 80s. Knights and Bikes delivers on an extraordinary experience that is hard to find these days.

Knights and Bikes isn't perfect, but it makes up for its hiccups with charming visuals, two adorable protagonists and a moving story that reminds us of some of our deepest, strongest fears and insecurities as kids. At the same time, it also reminds us of a time when we were filled with youthful optimism and were positively certain that we would make a difference in the world around us, no matter how tough things get. After putting in time in the game, one thought comes to mind. I wanna ride my bike.
