The game is interesting, but becomes to repetitive.

A paint by numbers entry into what's becoming an inflated genre but the gameplay can still be fun despite feeling repetitive, especially late on.

Galaxy Warfighter is a better game if you're on iOS or Android. It wouldn't necessarily make it a masterpiece, but it is a more tolerable experience on devices that are made for your pocket. On the PC, however, the litany of issues plaguing the game design are too much to make this worthwhile when the platform has a near-limitless supply of better titles in the genre. Unless you really need Steam Achievements, pass on this one.

This isn’t the next great shoot-’em-up, but it’s competent and playable and accessible. Galaxy Warfighter would be a great game to introduce a new player to the genre, but it’s just as good at being a background activity. Even though seasoned pilots should probably steer clear, there’s room in the galaxy for new or laid back cadets to take this one for a spin.

If you want to enjoy a laidback shoot 'em up without all the stress usually involved in the genre then you'll surely have some fun here.

As a big fan of shooters of all flavors the Switch has indeed been very good to me...

None of the previous games I’ve reviewed in my six years made me jump ship so early before I reviewed them, not even the awful Skunk Software titles. But there’s a first time for everything, and thus Galaxy Warfighter is the game most-likely to prompt snap judgement from a player based on how terrible it is. Look at the pretty screenshots, and keep on walking by.

Galaxy Warfighter appealed to a classic genre within the video game world when it was born on mobile phones. In his jump to more complex platforms he keeps too much of his original system and it shows. But he's capable of hooking you up with dozens of levels of decent shoot'em up, even though completing his hundred stages is another matter, and if you manage to do so, it will be with a huge sense of boredom and monotony.

As a big fan of the shoot-’em-up genre, I had my hopes up for Galaxy Warfighter. Unfortunately, the game just doesn’t do anything to hold the player’s attention. Truth be told, you can see everything the game has to offer in the time it takes to watch or read this review. For a quick-fix free-to-play mobile game, that might be acceptable. But for a title that’s currently going for $7.00 on the Switch eShop and Steam, that’s just inexcusable.

Galaxy Warfighter is a simple, to the point shmup. If you’re new to the genre this is a cheap way to test the water. More advanced shmup fans may find this just a little too simple. The later quarter of a game also starts to become quite the grind. By that I mean I had to repeat levels over and over until I had sufficient upgrades to progress. But if you want another coffee game, something to dive into for a few games now and then, Galaxy Warfighter will scratch that itch. Despite levels and bosses becoming repetitive I couldn’t help but be compelled to press on with this game until I fully conquered it. At least to give my pilot Hex the happy ending he deserved.

This is a simple game with a simple mission with only the bare minimum of content to keep you playing. Usually, even the simplest games are at least polished in one particular way or another with either beautiful graphics, or some interesting gameplay gimmick to keep you coming back. Galactic Warfighter has no unique selling point. It is as generic as its name suggests.

MEDIOCRE - If you like shooters and are really looking for something to play, flip a coin. Galaxy Warfighter’s lack of a solid soundtrack and its repetitiveness make for a dull experience that only the most desperate of SHMUP fans should seek out.

This is a bullet hell game for people who aren’t sure that they can get into bullet hell games. The difficulty curve is so gradual that it could open up the entire genre to newcomers.
