I was really hoping that this game would make me feel like a "goddamned sexual Tyrannosaurus" but unfortunately I'm sure Jesse Ventura's character would compare it to a wildly politically incorrect and anachronistic slur instead.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is, unfortunately, forgettable and despite being partly interesting when you get to play the Predator, it is plagued by some arguable design choices made by IllFonic.

On a superficial level, Predator: Hunting Grounds succeeds at translating elements of the original 1987 movie into a four-on-one multiplayer game, and the matchups are occasionally tense and thrilling. But shoddy game balance, sloppy design, frequent bugs, and significant technical shortcomings squander most of the potential.

Predator: Hunting Grounds isn’t a terrible game. Not at all. But it’s just not good enough.

Despite delivering on nostalgia, Predator Hunting Grounds lacks the punch to make it stand out.

Predator: Hunting Grounds had a troubled launch when it arrived on PlayStation 4 and goes through the same mishaps in this new version due to technical problems that continue to negatively affect the experience. The asymmetrical multiplayer mode allows for a faithful adaptation to what we've seen in the classic films, but the balance needs continuous adjustments to ensure that both factions are viable choices.

Predator is very popular movie and game character. But this time even his hand blades can't persuade to buy Hunting Grounds. Becouse lack of content and poor stability.

I enjoyed my time with Predator: Hunting Grounds. It's the first asynchronous multiplayer title in a while that has appealed to me, and it has already shown that it has its potential for fun. Nonetheless, it's a hard sell for a price of $40.

Predator: Hunting Grounds occasionally offers a satisfying and violent asymmetrical multiplayer showdown, but doesn't look or play well while doing so. Hardcore fans of the series might get some value out of this title, if they're patient enough to wait in the long matchmaking queues.

Returning players will feel the same sense of déjà vu they would upon watching a disappointing movie sequel... and to be blunt that's something that Predator fans know all too well at this point.

I’ve been enjoying my time with Predator: Hunting Grounds but it leaves plenty of room for skepticism. For a $40 product it really lacks content right now and it needs further improvements in some key areas to be great. That said you can tell a lot of care went into making sure the Predator played great and that the game felt like the original movie. If you can get a good group together you can have a lot of fun with this one.

I enjoyed Predator: Hunting Grounds, no doubt, but the glaring issues it has as an overall package is difficult to ignore. This would have been a great game if it had a single-player campaign. Do you know what would have been an awesome 4v1? Ridley Scott’s Alien.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is a fantastic game to enjoy whenever you're in the mood for some chaotic and overly violent online multiplayer action. With that being said, playing it in long sessions will make the experience wear thin sooner rather than later.

It is nice for Predator: Hunting Grounds to finally see the light of day on the Xbox platform. Illfonic has been wise and opted for the low entry cost of just over £16 for the bog standard edition of the game. The team hasn’t just ported the game across in the hope of a quick buck, either. Overall, the presentation has had a good polish and gloss-over for this new lease of life on the green side of the fence. It was fantastic to see the early crashing issues promptly resolved within a matter of days of launch, I can now report that the game runs like clockwork. Bearing in mind that the game is four and a half years old at this stage, you have to forgive that it will look a little dated. However, what we essentially have for Xbox is a brand-new FPS for the console, and we always need more. What I adored about Predator: Hunting Grounds is the ability to have fun whether playing alone or with friends online, you can succeed in both scenarios. The intensity of being stalked by whoever is playing as Predator always has you on edge and brings the atmosphere of the movies into the game. For its low-cost entry and an absolute ton to unlock and level up, it is well worth a punt!

What we have in Predator: Hunting Grounds even provides some fun, such as explorations in search of valuable resources, joint attacks against the Predator (until the almost inevitable defeat) or reviving defeated colleagues. The alien hunter offers more, with even Mortal Kombat-style fatalities. It's a shame that you have to put up with an exaggerated asymmetry, which will lead to few cool matches amidst several annoyances.

The updated version of Predator: Hunting Grounds features the same formula as its counterpart that originally arrived on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The improvements made mainly concern the graphical and technical components, while maintaining almost identical gameplay. That said, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are a worthwhile purchase for fans of the film series. Those who have already tried the original title, however, will not see so many changes as to justify the purchase on current gen.

There is a glimmer of a diamond in Predator: Hunting Grounds, but it is surrounded by a lot of rough. The game is a lot of fun when you're playing with friends or even a well-coordinated group as the Fireteam, but balance issues with how the Predator can actually hunt the team or how the Fireteam can respond to an ill-equipped Predator truly keep it in a rough place as an asymmetrical multiplayer title. It has great ideas at its core but the execution at this stage isn't working, and with fine-tuning, it could be top tier.

Predator: Hunting Grounds has solid legs but repetitive objectives and poor balancing muddy what could have been a new take on asymmetrical multiplayer.

Hunting Grounds is one of those games that have some great ideas, but this ideas are not well executed. Not only the game lacks a lot of content but also the game take some weird decisions regarding its mechanics.
