Streets of Rage 4

Streets of Rage 4 is a great return of a beloved series that will please both nostalgic fans and the new generation of gamers. It's nothing revolutionary, but it isn't outdated and stuck in the past either.

A beautiful art style and a fun soundtrack lay the groundwork for Streets of Rage 4’s fun, free-flowing, surprisingly nuanced combat to make it a worthy entry into the long-dormant, much-revered franchise.
Streets of Rage 4 is much more than just nostalgia and fan service. Streets of Rage 4 is the revival of the beat em' up genre and a must have no matter what.

At eleven chapters it's the perfect length, and yet I can't help but feel that I'd keep playing for as long as it kept throwing me new chapters. Then again, "New Game" is right there. The same thugs will happily line right back up, likely with the added confidence of a higher difficulty setting, and I'll be just as happy to keep punching them.
Streets of Rage 4 was a blast to play, taking me back to my childhood and allowing me to have a reason to play with my friends. I recommend it not just to fans of the series, but as a fun introduction to this classic franchise.
Streets of Rage 4 does a textbook job of balancing between the new and the old.
Sometimes, I feel like I was pretty much dragged kicking and screaming into this age of DLC and microtransactions. With its on-point, classic gameplay and plethora of easter eggs and unlockables, Streets of Rage 4 reminds me that you can punch back and maybe throw a Grand Upper or two to reclaim those good old gaming days from before. It’s just a joy to be able to happily walk those familiar streets once again without having to rage about what was once lost. From one old-school gamer, well played Streets of Rage 4 dev team. Well played. Now go and remake Guardian Heroes.
“Streets Of Rage 4 shows why old skool beat em ups can be fun and still have a place in today’s landscape”
Streets of Rage 4 is a rare example of simple concept perfectly realised to its full potential. With incredible visual flair and an amazing soundtrack, beating up wave after wave of enemies has never been more enjoyable. For those who are not fans of the beat-em-up genre, things may seem overall a little simplistic but if you are yearning for something to quench your insatiable thirst for arcade violence, it doesn’t get better than this. Ironically for a game titled "Streets of Rage", there’s absolutely nothing to be angry about!
