F1 2020 continues to offer a great sim racing experience, and boosts its value by adding an engaging management mode. Elsewhere however, the presentation remains underwhelming, alongside a scattering of minor technical issues.

F1 2020 is a natural evolution of the series, too stuck to the past of it, with very few changes.

F1 2020 is the same experience we saw last year and the year before in terms of gameplay, graphics and the general atmosphere of the world of Formula 1, but this version shines with the “deepest” My Team mode in the history of the series, as well as the return of the split screen feature with many cars and tracks too.

F1 2020's career mode provides an impressive level of depth while the new driver assists make the game more accessible for new or inexperienced players. The simulation-style may be overwhelming at first, but extended playtime leads to an enjoyable experience. However, the AI and inconsistent penalties cause frustration, as do the occasional crashes. Ultimately, Codemasters created a platform for F1 fans to revisit history or create a legendary career.

It becomes more and more obvious that we're at the end of a generation. Thus, games are starting to suffer. However, Codemasters handled these problems pretty well and brought some nice updates to The Queen of Motorsports official videogame. My Team mode breathes a new life into the F1.

On the whole, F1 2020 is the ultimate Formula 1 racing simulator. Fully licensed, extremely deep, and very detailed, Codemasters have done a wonderful job of bringing the brutality and unpredictability of the F1 season to gaming platforms across the board. The introduction of My Team is a breath of fresh air and will keep me coming back to F1 2020 for the foreseeable future. It really is an excellent game!

The development team seems to be technically trapped in an old graphics engine, which offers stability in performance, but nothing substantial in terms of evolution in the portrayal of the sport.

F1 2020 is a product with an excellent technical sector and designed specifically for Formula 1 fans. Casuals find it hard to approach, especially if detached from the dynamics of the single-seater championship. Any avid person, on the other hand, finds bread for his teeth in Cdemasters' product.

Being booted back to the dashboard pretty consistently was a massive blow to my enjoyment, so that needs to get patched out quickly, but otherwise, this is the biggest and best F1 package we've got from Codemasters to date. My Team adds a heap of extra longevity to the game. On top of that, there's now a dedicated E-sports menu, online leagues and weekly events, so there's plenty of content to enjoy. The new Podium Pass system is the only question mark. Hopefully, Codemasters will resist the urge to turn its F1 license into yet another horrendous "live-service" marketplace, and will instead continue to build on their great new My Team mode and deliver outstanding on-track action for us Formula 1 fans.

F1 2020 started on pole and easily kept the advantage. No records were break, but neither the failures were made.

Formula 1 is back with F1 2020, the latest game in Codemasters' annual franchise. Each game has seen steady improvements over a number of years, but does F1 2020 keep with the current trend? Whilst there are some issues, Codemasters have gone above and beyond to provide a brilliantly realistic F1 experience.

When it comes to simulating a professional sport for both newcomers and veterans, F1 2020 is a masterpiece. It won't let you get disappointed if you're looking for highly stressful and exciting racing experience, though it's not a perfect game in the case of visuals.

While I do not think the game does enough to celebrate Formula 1's 70th anniversary, the rest of the elements, the actual important parts to represent the motorsport, are rather excellent and the added assists means anyone can pick up a controller and play.

F1 2020 manages to bring enough content with its new "My team" proposals which add yet another interesting layer to an already excellent base. We still regret the redundant side of the pre-race training programs (not enough variety), but it is ultimately the lot of Formula One that does not reinvent itself every day either. If you love F1 and want to enjoy it virtually, F1 2020 is the best and it is not because it is the only one.

This is the most complete series entry to date, with a full Formula 2 season, followed by up to 10 consecutive senior campaigns in an enthralling Formula 1 career. The new My Team mode allows for an even more personalised pilgrimage, and on track everything sings. It's a shame we're missing the story introduced in the previous entry and we hope Codemasters return to this and flesh it out in future outings. But all things considered, F1 2020 includes a frightening amount of content that makes this an essential for fans of the motorsport. This is, after all, the only complete Formula 1 season in 2020.

F1 2020 continues the positive trend the series has had over the last multiple years by not only improving on existing game modes and game mechanics, but also introducing the brand new My Team mode and even new racing options that make the game more accessible than ever.

If it wasn't for the addition of My Team, F1 2020 would go down as being great for newcomers, but past the best before date for those who have enjoyed recent iterations. Some elements are now very tired, but being able to oversee the running of your own team proves to be incredibly satisfying and just enough of a distraction – for now. F1 2020 highlights just how much of a team sport Formula 1 is, and that can only be a good thing.
