Ghost of Tsushima falls short of the kind of gameplay we expect from developer Sucker Punch at this point, but then excels all other expectations in its storytelling and world building. Protagonist Jin Sakai and the rest of the cast are all fantastic characters, and the tale they tell is one worth experiencing—even in those moments where the gameplay may falter.

The beautiful sightseeings, intense samurai combat, and fascinating side-missions of Ghost of Tsushima are appealing for me. But the dull and repetitive open-world makes the exploration experience boring.

As the sun sets on the PS4, Sucker Punch has given the console a noble send-off with Ghost of Tsushima. Although it takes some time to feel engaged by its beautifully tragic narrative, its brutal yet eloquent gameplay and picture-esque world never fail to capture you.

Ghost of Tsushima isn’t perfect, not even close. But neither is Jin Sakai, and his journey from Samurai to Ghost is one worth savouring, and a Legendary Tale all its own.

Ghost of Tsushima is probably the best game about Japan, but the story is too simple and the complex combat system can be tricked by evasive actions that transform it into an easy game.

Ghost of Tsushima offers an amazing open-world experience and satisfying combat, only mildly held back by its writing and characters.

It is quite possibly the best samurai game ever made, and is well worth picking up if you’re after another epic open-world to get lost in. Just temper your expectations as much as your steel.

This is a big, beautiful world to explore, absolutely filled with things to do and see. In a time when our own personal worlds have only gotten smaller, that’s probably more than enough for most players. It’s a game of consistent, small pleasures—at least, until you round a corner, and see something so beautiful you’re forced to just put down the controller and stare for a minute at the rippling effect of wind on grass. There’s a reason we build theme parks, after all.

At the end of the day, Ghost of Tsushima gets enough right and then some to forgive its shortcomings. Fans of samurai, period pieces, and action games will most certainly enjoy all that it has to offer. The only question is will you fight with honour or not?

If you wanted Assassin’s Creed set in feudal Japan, Ghost Of Tsushima will scratch that itch. The aesthetics and atmosphere are so beautiful and striking that it carries and elevates the generic, design-by-committee open-world gameplay.

Ghost of Tsushima falls a bit short. The narrative blocks and storytelling are too straightforward. To add to that, the side-quest bloat seeps the narrative of its pacing

The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima is simply the definitive version of a game that was already stellar when it landed on the PlayStation 4. It can't help but be gorgeous at just about every turn, and gripes about the sameness aside, the gameplay is extremely well polished. Games like this only exist when absolutely everyone involved pour a lot of passion into it, and it continues to be one of my favorites with this excellent PC port. Whether you prefer a controller or a keyboard and mouse, and whether you like the idea of sneaking around or of shouting your challenge to any Mongol who dares to cross you, Ghost of Tsushima delivers a memorable experience.

Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

Ghost of Tsushima isn't just the Ultimate Samurai dream coming true, but it's one of the best open world titles of this generation. Combination of Great storytelling, Top Notch Level Design, brilliant Combat design, jaw dropping Graphics and a flawless world, have resulted in a way that none of us could have imagined. Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch's greatest creation, Pinpoints and fixes lots of open world games' Design Errors and does a great job in making a world that we all can get lost and live in. If you want to fulfill the dream of being a samurai, living in one of the greatest video game worlds ever made and experiencing an awesome and heroic/historic redemption tales, go and enjoy this one hell of game. The most epic swansong for sony's 8th generation of gaming.

Overall, the story, world, and gameplay makes for a great open world experience that is held back by its inconsistent range of quality. The game is at its best in these cinematic and atmospheric moments, but is at its lowest when the game sometimes doesn't have an answer to the player's actions. It is hard to say that this game does anything wrong, but nothing much outside of the visuals and combat is truly great.

Ghost of Tsushima is a must-play game. Regardless of the problems, Sucker Punch should be appreciated for providing a pure experience as a samurai and then a ghost. This game is surely worth experiencing several times

Ghost of Tsushima may or may not be the game of the year for a lot of people. Between the stunning visuals, solid story and characters, and one of the best uses of the open world framework I’ve seen, it is a strong contender for me, even in a year that has included some fantastic releases.

Ghost of Tsushima can be considered one of the best open world games of this generation, mainly for its sublime ambience and fantastic art direction. The journey of Jin Sakai and the universe created is very interesting, specially for what can happen beyond that. A fun gameplay, rich world, captivating characters and more, make the latest Playstation 4 exclusive a more than worthy closure for the generation.
