Episode 2 is a huge letdown compared to the solid beginnings of Episode 1.
Anyone who misses the glory days of Metroid should really give Matterfall a closer look.
The controls can feel clunky at times, requiring the player to lay off the accelerator if they want to fire a weapon and turn at the same time, an odd mechanic in a game about speed and destruction.
Contrary to its name, Original Journey is far from an original adventure, offering little to motivate players to see its campaign through.
Every stage is a carefully-crafted explosion of looping paths and intricate patterns.
Miitopia is not going to be for everyone. On one hand, it has a quirky charm to it that some gamers will love. The little comments the Mii's make, the ability to cast the various characters in the game, the vast assortment of outfits and weapons (silly and otherwise). For some gamers, this will be like curling up with a warm cup of cocoa. For other gamers, it will be fun for a couple hours, and then just become painfully boring and repetitive.
Regardless of the play style, every character feels perfect on every map, which is a testament to the game's incredible design.
Aztez certainly is a fun game and very quick to the action, but I felt the tactical layer hid too much of the great brawler underneath.
There are graphics that pop with color, and an entrancing techno soundtrack that just keeps pulling you into the frenzy.
It certainly is one to add to the list, especially if you have kids or you're just looking for a solid party game.
If you enjoy stealth or strategy, Shadow Tactics is for you.
This was a fun little jaunt down memory lane, but it's really nothing more than another Namco collection in new digs.
Although Tacoma is short, it does a fantastic job telling the stories of the different characters throughout the game, using the non-sequential AR memory recordings to build emotional ties to each.
I rarely talk about the music in games, but it's catchy and fits the atmosphere enough to make one feel like they are standing in front of an arcade cabinet instead of sitting at their PC.
There's a dissonance between this fantastic art style and dull or tame backing soundtrack.
Even though these are all solid titles, something about this just feels like a ‘B-sides' collection of sorts.
This is a great purchase if you like sidescrolling bullet hell or just want an interesting game to play through with a friend.
Everything about this game is designed around casting these insane spells.
I'd like to see The Enemy Within challenge players' minds a bit more.
Cat Quest is a delightfully charming experience, one that people may overlook as a kids game, and they would be sorely mistaken.
