Pikmin 3 has this charm to it that makes it hard to put down and the lengthy campaign is incredible and the design choices in play make this one of the smartest games I’ve played recently. If you need a game that wants to challenge you with excellent exploration, tons of strategy and cute creatures; go out and get yourself Pikmin 3 Deluxe!
With the Deluxe edition on Nintendo Switch Pikmin 3 remains a wonderfully cute and clever real-time strategy game. On the technically side the WiiU title in the first place could have been more enhanced for the new platform. But if you did not play it so far, the Switch version is best way to catch up on Pikmin 3.

...Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the same amazing game it was before. Figuring out how to traverse levels and defeating huge bosses is still great fun. The visuals, audio, and performance are up to the standard of every first-party Nintendo Switch game, capturing that superb family-friendly tone. The new side-missions, multiplayer modes, and accessibility options simply add more value to an already fantastic game.
Pikmin™ 3 Deluxe is just as great as it was when it was first released on the WiiU. Released at the perfect time to entice a new generation of budding gamers into the wonderful world of the tiny Pikmin. I can imagine lots of very happy families playing Pikmin together this year at Christmas, it will make a fantastic family game to play. In fact, Pikmin is a fantastic game for anyone to play and enjoy immensely.
It may have taken me almost 20 years to become a Pikmin fan, but consider me sold on the series. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is just a joy to play from beginning to end. The game has several timers that keep you on track, but it rarely makes you feel rushed. There’s an added layer of accomplishment across each task you complete or day that passes where you don’t lose any Pikmin. While some systems show their age in terms of environment and controls, there’s a lot that makes it must play for Switch owners looking for a chill co-op experience.
Pikmin 3 is undimmed age and given a new lease of life on Nintendo Switch. A host of changes across content, controls, and modes make this deluxe edition the definitive one.
Pikmin’s establishment see’s its illustrious continuation thrive through an entirely new generation of gamers, and will forever have commonplace in Nintendo’s boundless world of video gaming, and potentially could see a new entry in its short line-up very, very soon.
Overall, Pikmin 3 was an absolute joy to play.
It seems like forever since we had a big Nintendo Switch exclusive and while Pikmin 3 Deluxe may not be a true exclusive, this port certainly has enough bells and whistles to entice players back in. Not only that, I am sure a lot of Switch players, due to not owning a WiiU, will be playing it for the first time, you lucky buggers. Pikmin is a very popular franchise and I will be splitting this review up into two halves, half talking about the game itself and half discussing its improvements from the WiiU version.
