Buy it if you have four controllers for one of the best couch games of the year; wait for working online modes if you don't.
The same excellent game but a little bit more ugly yet more portable.

Rocket League takes simple game mechanics and turns them into a tight, engaging experience that will have you coming back for hours upon hours of gaming fun. Everything that worked in the PS4 and PC versions works just as well on Xbox One, with only some slight technical limitations holding it back. Overall though, this is the same sports gaming masterpiece that it was last year, and is worthy of joining any Xbox One owner's library.
One of the best multiplayer games available today. Rocket League is a fantastically fun, frenetic game and you'd be hard pushed to find a better arcade-style football game anywhere else.
Rocket League on Switch is a bit like Sloth from The Goonies, it's ugly, but it's lovable and gets the job done.
An enjoyable, compulsively playable mix of driving and football.
It's July, but I can't imagine that I'm going to play enough games to knock Rocket League off of my "game of the year" list. It is that much fun. It's a blast, and it's actually just as much fun to watch — which is evident by the number of popular livestreams you can watch of Rocket League on Twitch.
Rocket League might be my favourite multiplayer game in years.
If you love sports, cars, or neither, Rocket League is your cup of tea!
Rocket League may only feel like a glorified minigame, but its wild, tense, and fast-paced gameplay makes it one of PS4's best multiplayer experiences to date.
Rocket League is simply a joy to play, win or lose. And with friends? Wow. This is the most fun you'll ever have behind the wheel of a rocket powered football playing car.
It's car football, but not as we know it, as Psyonix's exhilarating mix of chaos and control marks it as one of the year's best multiplayer experiences.
It might have taken a while for Rocket League to appear on the Xbox One, but the wait was worth it.
Rocket League can offer some invaluable fun and playtime. It's hard to beat solid mechanics and a sense of camaraderie you usually only get from playing sports. So gear up, head out to the pitch, and score some goals for all the kids who wished they owned Tyco RC cars years ago.
A very entertaining cross genre entry that blew us away with it's replay value and vehicular mayhem. If you like sports and cars, this game can provide a lot of fun.
Rocket League is one of the best multiplayer experiences of this generation. The single player pales in comparison, but with the joy-riddled social chaos Rocket League has on offer, any solo campaign would.
Rocket League is a good idea that's been expertly executed. While you may roll your eyes at the idea of a vehicular adaptation of America's least-favourite sport, this is a title that's hard to put down once you give it a try. Flawless controls and a frightening amount of depth ensure that both casual and hardcore players will have fun on the field – and the generally excellent online implementation transforms it into four-wheeled crack. Not even a lacklustre single player option and an out-of-place soundtrack can stop us from declaring this the beautiful car game.
Rocket League lives up to the hype surrounding it. For Xbox One players who have been envious of PS4 and PC players, your moment is here. Everything works even when it shouldn't, and the game provides hours of entertainment. Solo it is fun, with friends it is a blast. This is not a title to miss.
