Despite its original and creative idea, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a game that after a few hours becomes repetitive and boring. With a fight that could have been better developed and with very poor graphics this is a title that may not meet the interests and expectations of many.

It may be more modest in its aspirations than the sprawling open-ended RPG some may have expected, but like a wolfpack on the hunt Earthblood is very efficient at what it does. Its story, characters and scope may leave something to be desired but its use of the lore is intriguing and its stealth and combat components are equally compelling. A pleasant surprise, Earthblood hopefully bodes well for future World of Darkness games.

Cyanide are one of the biggest players in the AA video game space. Releasing some relatively popular franchises like Blood Bowl and Styx, they have been around for quite some time now. Playing as a werewolf in video games is quite uncommon, but does the studio have enough to create an interesting gameplay loop?

The idea of controlling the furious werewolves and all their destructive potential in video games has always seemed very cool to me, although it has never been properly explored. Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood manages to convey that feeling very well, making each encounter a brutally fun moment. Even with the negative points raised, I consider Cahal's journey an excellent choice for those looking for a good hack and slash action game and an unmissable adventure for fans of the genre.

Despite Earthblood's roughshot ride over opportunities to dive deep into the lore of Werewolf: the Apocalypse, the focused exploration of this end of the World Of Darkness manages to deliver a bloody good time when the claws come out. It's just a shame that some of the loftier ideas are let down by repetitive stealth gameplay and poorly developed mechanics.
Enter the latest addition to the World of Darkness video game pantheon with Werewolf: The Apocalypse -- Earthblood. It's... not great.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood has a good premise, but suffers from poor execution. If you're looking for a game that allows you to live out the fantasy of being an overpowered werewolf and kill everyone around you in bloody fashion, Werewolf provides that, but only just. Unrewarding combat, dumber-than-a-doorknob AI, dated mechanics, and an uninspiring presentation mean that this is a tough recommendation at the launch MSRP of $49.99 US.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood fails to satisfy as a stealth game or a brawler, and is let down by poor AI and shoddy presentation. At its best, it’s playable, but commits the cardinal sin of just being boring.
Despite having a really fun combat system and a good narrative, the game is weak on stealth and enemy AI.

Despite not contributing anything new to the genre and its technical deficiencies, it is entertaining, and enjoyable, with an elaborate history that could certainly be used more in future projects of the study.

We're stuck between a rock and a hard place with Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, because while it definitely has its downsides (some of them potentially deal-breaking, especially if buying it at full price) we also enjoyed our time with it. Everything is built around its destructive combat, which remains engaging to the last, and if you're willing to deal with some average-at-best graphics, a mediocre story and a short running length, we still think you'll have a good time with this one. Give it a try, and it might just surprise you.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is an action game based on the role game of the World of Darkness. You will play as a Cahal, a garou that can transform (apart from human) into wolf and werewofl, as you want. Thus, you will start a journey of revenge to stop Endron and the Wyrm. Gaia and your pack are in danger, and only you can save them.

Even though Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood can't be considered a failure or even simply a bad game in any way, its issue is that it doesn't really excel in any way either. The only thing that elevates it from the competition is the visceral and impressive combat system.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood feels like an expansion on a single, promising idea whose repetitive combat, underwhelming presentation, and confused story take away from what makes the original idea interesting.
While Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood may contain interesting ideas, like being able to shift forms in an instant, its gameplay and story are too generic and boring to be worthwhile.
My second foray into the World of Darkness franchise unfortunately has left me wanting for more. There's definitely some fun to be had here, but the majority of the game manages to just feel dated and lazy, which makes even the most fun aspects get old before too long. I truly hoped for more from Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, but what I'm left with is a game that I don't think I'll be re-visiting any time soon.
Werewolf: The apocalypse - Earthblood, based on the famous role-playing game, has been a failed entry into the world of video games. Its high repetitiveness and lack of progression, coupled with ineffective stealth mechanics, make it difficult to enjoy the experience. On the other hand, the combat is quite attractive and bloody, as well as an appealing setting and story. Only for fans of the World of Darkness franchise.
