If you have a love for classic games, Ghost and Goblins Resurrection will enchant you. It is a love song, adapted to Nintendo Switch with just enough. A new visual aspect, but always remembering the unfair moments we spent with one of the most difficult and bloody sagas in the history.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection marks a return of the classic and nearly everything about it feels entirely, painfully old-school.

Ghosts' n Goblins Resurrection is the reimagining of the classics Ghosts' n Goblins and Ghouls' n Ghosts. It comes to us after 15 years without enjoying the adventures of Sir Arthur and it does so in the best possible way, with a classic adventure of devilish difficulty that includes enough news to satisfy both connoisseurs of the original titles and users that they approach him for the first time. So it is a pleasure that Capcom recovers its classic sagas.

A way to revive the Capcom classic but with new and improved graphics. Difficult to rage but very fun and with the possibility of two simultaneous players.

Overall, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is still an extremely punishing yet fair game. The controls aren’t great, but after a playthrough, you start to gain some muscle memory. But there’s never a point where I can confidently say that the controls feel good.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection decides to venture into safe, impervious but known terrain, bringing the saga to 2021, renewing it in aesthetics but not in its dogmatic gameplay.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is exactly what fans of the original titles are looking for. There's nothing quite like taking on a level, learning its patterns, and triumphing over them with practice. For those without the time to replay sections, the casual difficulties will still provide an engaging and rewarding platforming experience (and Page was the mode we played most and found most enjoyable). That means there is a little bit of something here for everyone. With a title like Resurrection, there's a big promise being made to fans of the series - and more often than not, Ghost 'n Goblins Resurrection delivers on that promise.

Had the gameplay been tuned up a bit more I could see myself recommending this, but unfortunately, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is one game that feels like it came back from the dead a little too soon.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is an attempt to make an old-school absurdly difficult quarter muncher a game worth playing in the modern era, and it delightfully succeeds.

Ghosts N’ Goblins Resurrection is a tough-as-nails good time.

All told, the nostalgia rush of reliving a classic game is enough to make Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection a worthwhile experience, but the game's underwhelming design decisions may make some players bust out an NES Classic to enjoy the original Ghosts 'n Goblins instead. It has some unique concepts of its own, but those can only carry it so far.

All in all, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is exactly what it promises: a shinier, more modern, and no less punishing Ghosts 'n Goblins game. It offers various handicaps and advantages, but no matter how many it tosses at you, it won't change one simple fact: You are going to get hit, frantically run around in your boxers, and then die - a lot. If masochism in video games isn't your thing, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. If you want a GnG experience that feels familiar and modern at the same time, look no further than GnGR.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection plays it a bit too safe when it comes to being the first sequel in 15 years, instead opting for a polished up retelling of Arthur's quest to rescue his fair maiden from the clutches of evil demons not once but twice.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is a surprisingly great modern rendition of the classic franchise that manages to be more accessible while never once letting up on the soul crushing challenge that has come to be synonymous with the series.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a crushingly-difficult game, so if you’re looking to be brutalized, it is excellent at it. It features a handful of tools to help less-masochistic players through as well, making for a great package whether you just want to see the sights or emerge victorious from a game that feels like spite given form.

You don’t “Git Gud” at Ghosts ‘n Goblins. You suffer. You persevere until you make it to the other side. But Resurrection is the first one that doesn't hate you for trying.

Overall, despite the INFURIATING challenges this game will throw at you, it’s very enjoyable. I actually enjoyed myself playing this. Definitely way more so than the original. I do intend on playing on either Knight or Legend difficulty on a seperate save file, since you can’t change the difficulty mid-game unless you want to lower the challenge mid-level. It was very enjoyable, and I look forward to the next installment in this rebooted series.
