There’s plenty of fun to be had with Biomutant if you’re willing to dig through a fairly solid layer of jank to get to it.

You might ask if cuteness is compatible with RPGs, and the answer is definitely yes. Between wonderful panoramas and furious brawls, we will be amazed in a way that we believed was possible only when we were children.

The scale of its ambition makes the radioactive leak all the more widespread.

Biomutant is like a game that has come out of the hands of a tenacious but small crop that wants to offer much more, and has not found its potential due to impossibility.

Biomutant is the equivalent of a book with a beautiful cover, but empty pages. The game offers a narration thats great at times, but gets also slowed by the narrator. Unfortunately, I quickly lost interest and its not for a lack of trying many times. I did have a few moments of fun, but I can't recommend this game for now.

Biomutant’s positives ever so slightly outweigh its faults and with more time (and patches), it could grow into a much more entertaining game. Its unique world, extensive customisation and pool of interesting moves and tricks in battle make this game fun to play but for now, a colourful but empty world, a wealth of glitches, and dull objectives make it a tough sell.

Taking everything into account you will really enjoy the world and those in it, but do not expect the story to be the driving force of the experience. If you are a fan of making your own fun with a fantastic playground and tools to do it with then Biomutant is the funky little duck to try out.

Aiming for the top but falling hard, Biomutant leaves us wondering just what could have been if it just made some important changes.

Biomutant, to date, we have found it to be a very enjoyable open-world role-playing game, but with aspects that can be improved, strengths and others that seem half-baked. With all this put in a balance, what we find today is a fun game that could have been better but is still worth enjoying.

While the combat is stylish and its open-world is fun to explore, Biomutant is a game that bit off more than it could chew, leaving a lot of parts feeling half-baked.

I may not have any desire to return to the game, but I enjoyed my time with Biomutant. I think most fans of the genre will too, jank and all. Its world is a beautiful one worth exploring, even though it’s a bit static. Evolution wasn’t entirely kind to it, but Biomutant still grew up to be a respectable but flawed fur-filled adventure.

Biomutant’s excellent crafting system stands out in an otherwise mundane action RPG that shows signs of potential, but falters in its execution.

Biomutant is a genuine open-world game, based on a post-apocalyptic period with RPG mechanics and a wide range of personalization about your character. The combat system combine hack and slash with shooter elements and the powers of wung-fu, a martial arts style that you can improve during your adventure. Your mision is to stop the destruction of the world and try to save all the Biomutant forms of life.

Biomuntant is an action adventure game with complete RPG character customization. THE GAME STARTS IN AN EXTREMELY SLOW RHYTHM, the first hours are dedicated to its storytelling and tutorial. After that, you will fight, travel and loot to complete a variety of different quests to save what’s left of the world. Like most open-world games, there is a bunch of things to do, but what most stand-out about the gameplay is HOW EASY BIOMUTANT IS. Almost every combat can be won by kiting enemies around. Puzzles are so simple that can become repetitive for some players. All bosses can be easily beaten on the first or second try. THE LACK OF CHALLENGE can influence how deep you go into the RPG portion of the game. As things “run so smoothly” the need to build, optimize and learn how to better play your character becomes secondary. This doesn’t mean the game can’t be fun to play. Just be sure that you are the kind of player that enjoys exploring, collecting things, and completing lists of objectives.

Biomutant is very uneven, almost like a “best of” AAA mechanics of the past few years. At the same time, its world is so evoking, so full of life and interesting stories – if you are willing to put the effort to find them – that’s hard not to feel compelled to enjoy it to the fullest.

There are a lot of things Biomutant does exceptionally well, and one or two aspects that do need a bit of work. Needless to say, the game is a whole lot of fun. From its charming narration to its dark yet beautiful world – the pretty vistas and horrific oil-pits – and even its world-building characteristics showcasing where conflict has been taking place; the game is a joy to play and be immersed in. Player progression is vast and works incredibly well to make players feel powerful, while the game continually throws challenges at players to keep things interesting. There are a large number of puzzles, all of which unlock fancy new gear or crafting materials (the latter of which does need a bit of work), and the Wung-fu is an extremely neat little addition to the mix. All-in-all, players who liked Immortals Fenyx Rising will feel right at home with Biomutant. It is beyond charming and more than worth a play.

It's been a while since I had so much fun with an open world in a videogame: Biomutant is full of things to see, explore and collect. Sometimes, it's even a bit too much: Biomutant is a collection of great ideas but not all of them do really shine.

Biomutant will have many shortcomings and errors, which perhaps one day will be corrected with patches and a lot of work, but it has achieved something that not everyone achieves, having me hooked on command for a good handful of hours and not wanting to let go.

Biomutant sags under the weight of its various disparate elements, leading to a game which looks gorgeous, but is frustratingly mediocre.

This game has lost even its fun due to the three-year delay in development. It shows a combat system like a puppetshow and a hollow open world which only have frames at all.
