Overall, I enjoyed Samurai Warriors 5. I generally do enjoy the gameplay of this Warriors franchise and they’ve kept it fresh by including some small changes. The ultimate attacks were a particularly appreciated spin. While the story is never really the focus of the Warriors titles, it was an enjoyable telling of Nobunaga’s tale too. It doesn’t steal the crown of my favorite Warriors title from Dynasty Warriors 8, but it’s certainly a strong entry into the series.

Samurai Warriors 5 gives you a sense of incredible herculean power as you play through it. Few other action games give you such an ability to cleave through crowds of foes that stand in your path, and it’s undeniably satisfying to be able to swat a few dozen people aside. Not that this series and other Musou titles don’t give you that same play style and feeling, but the mixture of political intrigue in its story and the striking new visual style make this entry well worth playing.

Samurai Warriors 5 is one of the best games I’ve played this year. I didn’t think I would be saying this when I started playing it, but the more I experienced this title the more I got into it. That’s a rare thing for me in gaming these days, and I’m very thankful when it happens. The art style, storytelling, and music are all top tier. While the combat hasn’t changed a whole lot, the tweaks make it fast and a ton of fun. I do wish there were more weapons and characters to choose from, since this series has a ton of both that didn’t make the cut here, but this a great start for a refresh of the series. If you are a fan of Samurai Warriors, pick this one up today at the $59.99 price tag and you will be very satisfied with this entry. If you have never picked up one of these games before, this is a fantastic starting point for you. If Koei Tecmo keeps up this level of quality, this series has a bright future ahead of it.

Samurai Warriors 5 not only reinvents the franchise's wheel, but it also sets out a formula that should give the Warriors series fresh energy.

Samurai Warriors 5 is a breath of fresh air for the Musou series. If you have not been into these games before it’s unlikely this is the game to win you over to the series. For me, though, this felt like a return to a more traditional form. With keeping the battles simple like I remember back in the day whilst adding plenty of depth to keep you playing for hundreds of hours. I may have taken a break from this series for some time but Samurai Warriors 5 feels like a welcome return to form. If you’re a fan of this series this is definitely one to look out for.

Samurai Warriors 5 is the best title in the Warriors universe! I have been playing the Warriors parts since Dynasty Warriors 3 and have experienced many lows and highs. But this title has so much to offer. An exciting battle system with different weapons that can be completely customized. The story, which is very close to reality. Admittedly, not everyone will like the story around Nobunaga Oda and Mutsuhide Akechi, but if you get involved, you will get to know an important part of the 15th century in Japan. Newcomers to the Warriors series will get a wonderful introduction to the franchise. Veterans will get plenty to do thanks to the different modes to keep the game fun for as long as possible. Now it's just a matter of going into battle and helping Nobunaga Oda unify old Japan once and for all!

This could very well see a renaissance period that has one of the more polarising reputations in gaming. Some see Musuo as a hack-and-slash for the unexperienced, others understand its qualities but I do know one thing, and that is Samurai Warriors 5 is most certainly an entertaining title, worth the price of admission.

There is a great deal to like about Samurai Warriors 5. The new art style is incredibly appealing, the progression elements make for a compelling gameplay loop and the focus on characters has made the narrative more interesting than ever. The series feels less niche than it has been in the past, with a handful of different modes to encourage replay, even if the combat itself still remains pretty simple by and large.

An attempted re-imagining that lacks ambition but should still satisfy most series fans.

Samurai Warriors 5 is over the top in its action, beautifully painted in its presentation, and offers a surprisingly decent narrative. It may get grind heavy, but that doesn't stop it from being the freshest Warriors game in years.

Samurai Warriors 5 is a lot of a good thing, but you have to be confident you’ll enjoy that good thing for it to be worth the price of admission. If you’re already a fan of the singular “1 vs 1000” gameplay that can only really be found in Warriors games, your time will be well spent with this title.

Musou fans will surely enjoy all the features Samurai Warriors 5 offers, and new players will have no problem following the story. The gameplay is very fluid, the audiovisual presentation is dazzling and the story doesn't leave any loose ends, besides being a treat for history lovers. Unfortunately, the negative points, especially the camera control, harm the gameplay. It's up to the player to decide whether or not it's worth venturing into the Sengoku period, especially because Samurai Warriors 5 doesn't present anything new compared to other musou games.

Despite having minor issues to be resolved, the game remains great. I have a feeling that the next expansion for this game will either have more characters, or will be focused on another era of Japanese history. To those who wish to play it, I recommend playing the demo first to familiarize themselves better with the system of Samurai warriors 5 plus special bonuses can be unlocked if a save file of Samurai Warriors 5 demo is found in gamers’ hardware. Playing it fully and watching these dramatic moments will spin the minds of gamers around.

If you've already tried the genre and didn't like it, don't expect this title to change your mind. Now, if you like musou or are looking for a game full of action, beautiful visuals, good gameplay and lots of content, then Samurai Warriors 5 is a great choice. Cool characters and interesting story enrich the game, making it fun and varied enough. I look forward to the sequels of this reboot, which could be the perfect opportunity for the franchise to take even higher flights.

Samurai Warriors 5 is a fresh reinvention for a series that was beginning to feel familiar. A story focussed on Nobunaga’s early years takes the bold choice of ditching many series mainstays. However, the combat and overall presentation haven’t received the same level of new blood and remain as over the top and ridiculous as ever. If you’re a fan, SW5 is as fun as it’s ever been.

Samurai Warriors 5 provides a fresh start for the franchise through a focused narrative while retaining what fans love. It builds on the established formula rather than overhauling it completely creating a balanced action experience. Despite issues with repetitive movesets and the limited Ultimate Skills, I had a great time returning to the battlefield that has only been better with this updated aesthetic.

Samurai Warrior 5 is a musou game brings us to know the military commander's life, Oda Nobunaga, historical figure really important for Japan, and his right-hand, the samurai Mitsuhide Akechi. It is a frenetic and fast-paced action game will have us some quite hours entertained with battles 1vs1000. Visually it is very beautiful, in spite of antialiasing's defects and immersive with respect to soundtrack
