Games like No More Heroes III are remarkably rare. Brimming with ideas and genuinely humorous moments, this is something uniquely Grasshopper, uniquely Suda. Get on it as soon as humanly possible.

No More Heroes 3 is a welcomed good time for fans of the series and may be a little hard to get into for new fans. Its crude humor remains the same (taking a dump activates your save files), but there is something very punk rock about this game that Suda51 has given us here. If you can look past its clunky visuals and repetitive gameplay, you're in for a treat.

For better or worse, No More Heroes 3 is pretty much more of the first two games with a new coat of paint. All of Grasshopper Manufacture’s wild action, bizarre storylines, and offbeat characters are present and accounted for, as is the often-tedious grind needed to progress to the next high-octane boss fight. However, for fans of the series, No More Heroes III is still a fine send-off for Travis Touchdown and his supporting cast.

Players coming to No More Heroes 3 for the first time will have fun with its combat and peculiar, entertaining narrative. Switch owners who played it already won’t find anything new, aside from framerate improvements and higher resolutions. While the former improves combat, the latter just draws attention to the graphical limitations of the original. No More Heroes 3 is generally a worthy next chapter in the franchise, but I expected a little more than a straight-across port.

No More Heroes III could have been great. Its visuals, performance, and combat system are all a massive improvement over its predecessors. This game had all the ingredients to become a hack ‘n’ slash classic, but Suda51 had to shove it, nay, drown it with arrogance, self-indulgence, and some of the unfunniest “humor” I’ve witnessed since, well, the original No More Heroes, I suppose. The return of the pointless open world is further proof that player feedback, as well as trend analysis, haven’t been taken into account.

While my major issues with the game's writing, tone, and design remain unchanged, the PC port of No More Heroes 3 shines without the constraints of the Switch. The open world is very unoptimized, but if you have enough hardware to throw at it performance is far more acceptable. The game works great on Steam Deck too, letting you experience the alien murder fest wherever you go in gorgeous quality.

No More Heroes III is a pleasant sendoff for Travis Touchdown – especially so now that it's no longer stuck on hardware that couldn't keep up with it. The lack of performance problems make it so much easier to enjoy its wide variety of combat encounters, eclectic minigames, and zany story sequences. It comes at the cost of its other flaws becoming more pronounced, but it's still a brash and daring passion project from a Grasshopper Manufacture that continues to do whatever it desires.

No More Heroes III is one of my favourites in the series so far. A streamlined structure, some fantastic writing, and direction from Goichi Suda and some of the tightest combat the series has ever seen make No More Heroes III one of the best. The latest ports rectify most of the performance problems seen in last year's Switch debut, remedying some minor blemishes on an otherwise remarkable artistic achievement. This is, without a doubt, the best way to experience No More Heroes III.

Despite its flaws, No More Heroes III is a worthwhile addition to the series. With the performance issues that distracted on Switch now a thing of the past, and the best combat that the series has produced to date, No More Heroes III is capable of providing an overload of gorgeous, chaotic fun. With combat this good, it’s a shame that the rest of the package feels so woefully outdated at times. By relying so heavily on past gimmicks and humor, No More Heroes III becomes a recommendation for die-hard fans only, rather than something that could have had a more widespread appeal had some more efforts been made to modernize the experience.

No More Heroes III is exactly what No More Heroes was promised to be when it first came out about fifteen years ago and in an age when everything is supposed to be “modernized” or some other buzzword, this is one of those titles that should be championed for its authenticity and specific tone and style.

No More Heroes 3 is a title that I've been waiting for a long time, but it didn't live up to expectations. It's a game that shows great potential, but never commits to fully realizing them, resulting in an experience that is unique but unsatisfying.

While not sticking its landing well, No More Heroes 3 is the most polished experience of the franchise with really entertaining set pieces.

Travis Touchdown has grown in his "final installment" of No More Heroes. Because of this, the overall game has a different feel than previous entries and might be why it's my favorite game in the franchise.  Travis is a much more likeable character with some tangible realizations of action's consequences. Paired with an interesting story, this makes No More Heroes 3 the best entry in the series. If you are a fan, No More Heroes 3 should definitely be added to your library.

No More Heroes 3 is a good game. But what affords the game personality is perhaps the same thing that keeps it from becoming something better than just good.

Some battles may not be as enjoyable as others but there’s so much fun to be had in most of them that it doesn’t matter. The story is interestingly bizarre, the characters are larger than life and the combat is a delight. Arguably the most important thing though is that it’s a worthy entry in the franchise that will no doubt be another cult classic in the world of gaming.

No More Heroes 3 is an honest sequel that honors its creator's craziness and is a lot of fun at times. Unfortunately, half-hearted writing and too frequent and long loading times undermine the experience.

No More Heroes III really is the end of Travis Touchdown’s adventures, then it’s a hell of a way to go out. No More Heroes III is the bombastic and absurd send off the series deserved, and while it could’ve used some more polish in places, the passion underneath the rough spots is very notable. SUDA51’s send off to Travis Touchdown is equal parts insane and endearing all at once. There is no doubt in my mind that he loves the world of No More Heroes and will definitely miss the main cast as time goes on.
