Against the backdrop of previous installments, No More Heroes III seems somewhat underwhelming, but it still brings a bloody mayhem dripping with absurdity. It's a lot of fun despite some setbacks (especially the technical side, ugh!), and it can easily be recommended to all adult Nintendo Switch owners. Don’t say it’s too weird, just try it.

Some battles may not be as enjoyable as others but there’s so much fun to be had in most of them that it doesn’t matter. The story is interestingly bizarre, the characters are larger than life and the combat is a delight. Arguably the most important thing though is that it’s a worthy entry in the franchise that will no doubt be another cult classic in the world of gaming.

Players coming to No More Heroes 3 for the first time will have fun with its combat and peculiar, entertaining narrative. Switch owners who played it already won’t find anything new, aside from framerate improvements and higher resolutions. While the former improves combat, the latter just draws attention to the graphical limitations of the original. No More Heroes 3 is generally a worthy next chapter in the franchise, but I expected a little more than a straight-across port.

No More Heroes III is a wild ride though a psychedelic warzone that begs to be experienced. The technical issues and slog of an open world drag it down at times, but it never stopped me from wanting to see it through. I really wish the game had been released on more powerful hardware as it is clear the team had bigger ambitions than the Switch could handle. Still if you have enjoyed previous entries then this is a no-brainer. Definitely a solid end to the trilogy and one of the most unique games you will play ever.

No More Heroes 3 is rough, imperfect, sometimes even unpolished, but also artistically insane and spirited and has great gameplay.

It's unfair to call No More Heroes 3 a mixed bag, even if it does look like one from the outside. With a production like this it's hard to tell what's a fault and what's intended by the author to be a little janky since by its very nature the series is an over the top marathon of satire and parody of our culture, from movies to video games. To me, it was just what the doctor ordered, but it's definitely not for everybody. Me? I just want more. I hope it's successful, so that I don't have to wait too long for the next instalment.

Simple action-adventure with wild pop culture references, which scores with lively fights, but bores with a dull open world.

No More Heroes cutscenes and boss battles are worth the time investment alone. Its highs greatly outweigh the lows and provide plenty of fun for those who stick it out until the end

While not sticking its landing well, No More Heroes 3 is the most polished experience of the franchise with really entertaining set pieces.

No More Heroes III is a semi-open-world title that is confusing as hell. With many side quests, loads of missions, and badass swordplay, this is a colourful and repetitive arcade fighting experience. Sadly, its strange ways won't be for everyone, but I enjoyed the madness nevertheless.

I admit that my expectations for No More Heroes III were high. Despite the technical limitations, in the end the production met my expectations. As in previous titles, we have an adventure full of emotion and madness, extreme combat and that characteristic charm. I'm hoping this isn't the real end of the franchise and that, one day, we can once again have fun with Travis and friends.

A strong third main entry in this insane series of brawlers, No More Heroes 3 is both accessible to new fans and daunting at the same time. A lot of it will make sense to fans, naturally, but may put off those just treading water. That being said, the main story is practically standalone, with some of the most colourful and creative bosses outside of a Souls game.

No More Heroes III is not going to be the type of game that appeals to everyone, but if you are a fan of the franchise and Suda’s wild world then it’s an absolute treat. Now that some of the older performance issues are fixed and the visuals are upgraded, it’s the perfect time to give No More Heroes III a try. While a little more variety would have been appreciated, it’s hard to fault Suda for achieving what he set out to do.

Despite having the same playable basis as previous titles, No More Heroes III adds enough playable improvements and novelties to notice a small evolution in the classic formula. Although the graphics section and performance are not its strong point, Goichi Suda's personal style and the freshness that he distills in each section make it a title to take into account.

No More Heroes III is exactly what No More Heroes was promised to be when it first came out about fifteen years ago and in an age when everything is supposed to be “modernized” or some other buzzword, this is one of those titles that should be championed for its authenticity and specific tone and style.

Ultimately, No More Heroes III is an impressive series evolution that doesn't lose touch with its roots. It's the most polished No More Heroes game to date, both in aesthetic and gameplay. While it loses some steam in its back half, without spoiling anything, Suda51 has enough surprises and unexpected twists in store to keep even the most ardent No More Heroes fan on their toes. Perhaps most impressive is the understated internal struggle of its hero. Suda51 and Grasshopper have once again created a layered experience that's enjoyable on the most kinetic and visceral level with plenty of hidden emotional depth, conveyed with an unmatched and unduplicated artistic personality. After a decade-long wait, No More Heroes III delivers on the promises of a superheroic return to Santa Destroy.

In More Heroes 3 it's like a reunion with an old classmate. The ones we fight with about irritating things, but which, in the end, brought us great moments. Someone that, despite the problems, we can't help but like.

It will be enjoyed by the friends of hack and slash, who want a challenge and a game that, although it seems simplistic in terms of handling, has great depth and synergy of mechanisms, with its endless style being just the icing on the cake.
