Syberia: The World Before Reviews
It's hard to resist the world of Benoît Sokal's Syberia: The World Before. With its sweeping vistas, well designed machinery and unique charm, it's a visual joy. This joy is backed up with sublime music and an irresistible dialogue and story that uses ample sarcasm. This, possibly last, entry to the series is a love letter to all that came before and a much-needed return to Syberia. Highly recommended to all lovers of adventure titles.
Syberia: The World Before ends a twenty-year run in a dignified way

Fans of the series will be disappointed that Syberia: The World Before strays far from what was great. It should have been like Tintin, but it’s more like a made-for-TV Lifetime movie. The visuals look awesome but the gameplay and story are vulgar steps backward in the worst ways.
Despite a slow start and some persistent technical issues that are inexcusable, Syberia: The World Before is a fantastic narrative adventure that continues the series in spectacular fashion, and does Benoit Sokal’s legacy proud. It’s not clear where Syberia as a series goes from here now that the Sokal is sadly no longer around to steer the ship, but I have full faith after playing Syberia: The World Before that Microids is more than capable of continuing to deliver more incredible tales in this universe.
Syberia The World Before is a beautiful conclusion to the saga of Benoît Sokal.

Syberia – The World Before is a wonderfully directed, well-flowing story that keeps you guessing and invested through developing mechanics, varied puzzle solving and well written characters. There are some minor performance issues but nothing that holds the adventure back from being a fitting, apt conclusion and the best installment in a series that began nearly 20 years ago.
if you're an adventure game fan and have some patience, there's a lot to admire and enjoy here
Syberia: The World Before is a great adventure game, as well as a successful sequel to the series. If you don't mind that it's slow-paced and very investigation-focused, it's one of the most beautiful and intimate experiences of the year.

Syberia: The World Before delivers an impactful story that perfectly wraps up Kate Walker's legendary story while whetting the appetite for more stories involving newcomer Dana Roze. Visuals in the game are simply exquisite and combined with the beautiful soundtrack and stunning piano arrangements it's an audio-visual feast. I really hope we one day get more stories in the exotic world of Syberia, but if this is it, the series is concluding on the highest note possible.
Syberia returns to the right track with a new adventure that convinces, with two timelines and the usual gameplay with some novelties, nothing revolutionary. If you like the genre and the saga, you have all the ballots to get hooked in a big way.

Syberia: The World Before is a remarkable adventure game that keeps its legacy adventure charm and is a worthy continuation of Ms. Walker’s story. It is a game that all of Microids and B. Sokal can, and should be, proud of.
Syberia: The World Before is a posthumous adventure game that takes place across continents and eras, mixing cinematography with puzzle solving in a very successful way.

Syberia: The World Before is a solid return to form for the series, with strong and inventive puzzles and an engaging story.
Syberia: The World Before is a very good adventure game that also serves as a touching capstone to Sokal's career. Most of the puzzles follow a sensible, logical path that is fun to figure out without making you question the solutions. The story is very well told, but the ending is frustrating for those seeking closure. The title also features a gorgeous presentation, so adventure fans who don't mind open-ended narratives will be pleased.
Syberia: The World Before will be most enjoyed by series veterans, but even rookies like me can find enjoyment with an hour or less of research.
Syberia - The World Before is a captivating story of turmoil in the face of fashism. With compelling characters and fascinating logic puzzles, newcomers and returning players alike will have a blast with this adventure.
After a third half-hearted episode, Syberia makes its comeback in the most beautiful way.

Syberia: The World Before doesn't really add anything new to the saga. But it is a game with a remarkable bill and an interesting story that will keep us glued to the pad wanting to know more about Dana Roze's life.

Syberia: The World Before is an incredibly well cared for audiovisual work, with an overwhelming cinematographic work.

Syberia: The World Before was a success. It's simpler than the previous installments in the series, but what it loses in the challenge it adds to with amazing audio-visuals accentuating the impeccable story. The game is perhaps more like an interactive movie, but it is not a walking simulator.
