Capcom Fighters Collection is yet another example of the utmost respect Capcom has for its back catalogue. Even worse, it'll make you sad that Darkstalkers is dead.

Whether you’re a fighting game fan who remembers some of these classics from yesteryear, or someone new to the genre who’s open to digging into some past treasures, Capcom Fighting Collection is well worth picking up. Sure, it’s fairly Darkstalkers-heavy, and the lack of cross-platform play is unfortunate, but the hours of fun that can be had from this collection far outweigh such disappointments. Capcom has once again plundered its extensive back catalogue and come up with the goods.
Repetition aside, Capcom Fighting Collection acts as a great companion piece to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, bringing out all of the other non-licensed fighting games the company has done over the years to a variety of platforms. The overall selection is solid with a bevy of presentation options, while the extras feel comprehensive if you aren't looking for movies or the histories behind the games. The online play performs well thus far, so fans of 2D fighting games will be happy.
A fantastic collection for fans of Capcom's golden period, thanks to the rollback, these fighting games gain a second life on the web. A position worthy of interest for all interesting stories, and how unconventional ideas the Japanese once had. It could have been better, but there is no tragedy. Darkstalkers are not dead?

Capcom Fighting Collection is a wonderful retro collection full of great arcade fighting games. However, up to half of it is made up of Darkstalkers games, some features are redundant, and the online mode is woefully empty.

Capcom Fighting Collection is an enjoyable batch of 10 classic games, some of which are more well known than others. It’s the more obscure titles that truly make it shine, which is why it’s a slight bummer the game doesn’t present them in a nicer way.
Besides being a darn good collection, it all comes down to whether or not you’re interested in the games. For fans of Darkstalkers and Capcom’s fighters in general, the improvements and first-time ports are worth it, plus the museum has some nice goodies like concept art and design documents.
Capcom Fighting Collection is the perfect fit for those who still reminisce about the classic arcade days and want to battle it out once again like the good old days. Some of the old bugs that annoyed Hyper Street Fighter 2 are fixed while the match making environment has become more fluid. The EX option allows players to pick secret characters as well. Red Earth becoming available to be ported to home platform was a first since its release in 26 years and 10 other great titles which may have existed behind the shadows of the big names, but that’s what makes it better since Capom realizes that these titles need some extra love among their heavy hitters.

I’d recommend this one mostly to arcade aficionados or those curious about the characters they’ve seen in the Vs. series or other Capcom crossovers. The modern conveniences are nice and the museum is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of these games, but these are still arcade ports through and through. Just like the Beat ‘Em Up Bundle, not every entry is equal here. More power to fans of older iterations and obscurities, and here’s hoping once again that Darkstalkers isn’t dead.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a fantastic value for those who enjoy fighting games and want to play some of the best to ever come out. There’s traditional titles like Darkstalkers and Street Fighter, some unique takes on the genre with Cyberbots and Red Earth and even a fighting themed puzzle game squeezed in there for good measure. It’s perhaps a bit Darkstalkers heavy for some, but I appreciated the mix of familiar titles and games I had never played before.
Capcom Fighting Collection is the best way to play many of these classic arcade titles as there have been enough adjustments to each title and adjustments to the ease of playing each one that it marks this collection as the best one of these re-release packages yet. It's a great step in the right direction for the future of collections of this ilk, and a great first collection for fans who might have never checked out one of these before. There are some repeats, but the new additions make up for it.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a satisfying bundle that includes 10 classic games with a variety of options as well as online multiplayer.
Fans of the time and scholars should not miss this concentration of quirks and excellent gameplay. Between options, modes and extras, however, more could and should have been done.

An homage to Darkstalkers more than anything, Capcom Fighter Collection is well packaged, presented and executed. There's not a lot of title diversity, but a few make their first overdue appearance outside of Japan and arcades.
The Capcom Fighting Collection is a fun and competitive package that offers some curiosities abroad the genre, although it is far from being the definitive collection. However, this many Darkstalkers games probably left out some other classics.

The Capcom Fighting Collection is a reminder of a time when Capcom was the king of making fighting games. It’s great to finally have the opportunity to enjoy the entire Darkstalkers franchise. It would be a damn shame if Capcom didn’t follow this release up with a brand new Darkstalkers installment. While I would have preferred updated visuals, the gameplay for the most part still holds up today. I hope Capcom adds the ability to quick save in each game individually, as opposed to a shared quick save among all 10 games. While this collection only features a small fraction of the fighting games Capcom has released, it’s still a worthy release and I imagine most fighting fans will want to add it to their collection.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a good collection of fighting games, offering a little bit of everything. It's pretty basic, offering what you'd expect and nothing more. It is more aimed at fans of Darkstalkers or those who want to know games like Red Earth. The simultaneous matchmaking for more than one online game deserves praise, however. The launch price, on the other hand, can be an issue.

The sprite work and sound design is still as on point as we always remembered. Outside of waxing nostalgic, we also get a previously unreleased in America entry with Red Earth, plus a rarer find in Gem Fighter for those wanting to dig deeper into the Capcom catalog. The sheer amount of Darkstalkers does bloat the collection to a degree and the poor online puts a damper but otherwise it's a good amount of games that show why Capcom were kings in the first place and hope they can return to the throne again one day.
Capcom Fighting Collection features a solid collection of games; particularly, when it comes to Darkstalkers. That's actually its main issue because it could use a lot more variety but considering the package is as fun and sleek as it is, I still recommend giving it a go.
