God of War Ragnarok is a serious candidate for game of the year. Sony Santa Monica's latest effort elevates what was the already “masterpiece” God of War of 2018 to full power, going out of its way to eliminate all its minor imperfections. And the result achieved is embellished by a mammoth amount of content and an out-of-parameter audio-visual compartment, especially thanks to the excellent art direction, despite the compromises of a totally old-gen-oriented development, which, however, we reiterate, never made us think that the game might have suffered some “cuts” precisely because of that choice. God of War Ragnarok, then, is the ultimate expression of a work that began a few years ago now with the chapter that arrived in our homes in 2018, as well as one of the best games of the year, and not only. Ultimately, God of War Ragnarok is a virtually unassailable title, dare we say almost perfect. It completely lives up to its name, “it's the end of the world.”

The definitive Kratos? Bold and perhaps counterproductive, but after completing Santa Monica's epic orchestrated effort, I'm ready to take a firm stand—favorable towards our trusted Spartan. God of War: Ragnarok is undoubtedly the series' pinnacle, thanks to enviable balance and maturity, unimaginable at its carefree beginnings. Kratos has evolved, and so have we, deserving applause for guiding us effectively through this winding path of change. Further innovation after the 2018 revamp would have been risky, so Eric Williams and the team wisely refined the new course initiated by Cory Barlog, delivering a game that improves and expands on its predecessor. The result is a must-play for Sony console owners and those who love great games. For everyone else, there's an endless catalog of productions to explore.

God of War Ragnarök on PC, like the first, is a masterpiece of balance between narrative, gameplay and aesthetics. Every element is crafted to deliver a complete experience. Whether it's combat, character development or the exploration of a vast, detailed world. Although the repetitiveness of certain battles is deplorable, the difficulty is measured, and every confrontation is an epic skirmish. The lack of clarity and conciseness in the gameplay and narrative may detract a little from the experience, but it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the game.

God of War Ragnarök is a highly successful, polished game that, with its PC version, shines like never before. Beautiful worlds and an engaging story are incredibly strong elements that make it difficult to pull away from this title. The exploration, however, might not be appealing to everyone, especially if you've maxed out the previous installment, as here we primarily get more of the same. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend the PC version of Ragnarök as it gave me with many moving moments as well as those that made me chuckle.

Perfected craft distilled into a work of art.
God of War is definitely worth playing. I spent about 24 hours immersed in God Of War Ragnarök and, as I write this review, I can't wait to return to the Nine Realms and continue exploring its side activities. Additionally, I plan to venture further into Valhalla and simply enjoy the game even more. Everything God of War offers is masterfully done; it is interesting and provides a fun experience. Its technical side is excellent, and the PC version is of high quality.

Even if I don’t enjoy God of War Ragnarök’s cutscenes, having this second chance to play the game now that it’s out on PC has at least made me realize that the newer version of Kratos isn’t as much of a reboot as I previously thought. I wouldn’t say I love the new games as much as I did the originals, and I definitely would’ve enjoyed this game more if it felt a little more focused on action and less on dialogue and characters, but God of War Ragnarök is, at the end of the day, a pretty good continuation of Kratos’ saga (and one that runs very well on PC).
God of War: Ragnarok on Steam is a unique experience that goes beyond the console version. Being the definitive version of this title.

In summary, it can be said that both platforms have their strengths. The PS5 version is perfectly optimized for console gamers and offers an incredibly stable, visually stunning experience. The DualSense feature takes immersion to another level, and with 60 FPS in performance mode, the PS5 also delivers enough power for action-packed battles. The PC version of God of War Ragnarök, on the other hand, scores with a wider range of customization options. Players with powerful hardware experience higher frame rates, native 4K graphics and even ultra widescreen. There are small technical stumbling blocks, but for the hardcore PC gamer, the version offers the maximum in freedom and flexibility.

God of War Ragnarok is the best-written AAA game since 2010's Red Dead Redemption. From a narrative and cinematic point of view, it's a worthy, satisfying, and an immensly emotional conclusion to Kratos' 17 years long journey that leaves the window open just enough for an eventual sequel.
There are a few very minor annoyances with the PC version but honestly, the stunning nature of the graphical improvements along with the already pitch-perfect gameplay mean that is a very very small price to pay.
God of War Ragnarök lives up to expectations and delivers an even more spectacular sequel to one of the best games of all time. Its long-awaited arrival on PC in yet another great adaptation from PlayStation Studios is above all a reminder that good works are timeless and deserve to be experienced by as many players as possible. Regardless of your platform, then, visit the nine realms and witness the Norse apocalypse alongside Kratos and his son: I guarantee that it will be hard not to consider this one of the best action-adventure titles ever made.

God of War Ragnarok arrives on PC after almost two years, and does so in the best possible way. The porting is excellent, option-rich and very light. It's hard to tear yourself away from the adventures of Kratos and Atreus, both for the deep storyline and for gameplay that never ceases to amuse. It's just a shame about that one login too many...

God of War Ragnarok is a good sequel to a great game. While it doesn’t hit the same highs as its predecessor, when it gets going, it flies. The excellent PC port by Jetpack Interactive makes sure that you’ll be experiencing the best Ragnarok has to offer. This has been one hell of a ride and I hope to see where the winds take Kratos next.
God of War Ragnarok is a game that officially raises the bar for the series. Its fluency, scenario structure, Kratos turning into a real ‘father’ and Atreus starting to follow his own path. It was a great game with every moment.
