Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Reviews
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a very memorable action game, but it doesn't mean much to a new audience.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (or Hero Turtles for a while here in the UK) is a name that is synonymous to anyone who’s grown up in the late 80’s and 90’s, as well as the current younger generations, due to various multimedia adaptations of their original comic book incarnation. They have spanned movies in the 90’s and late 2000’s, as well as animated shows, comic books and, for the purpose of this review, video games.
Shredder’s Revenge is an absolute blast to play and I can easily see myself returning to it as often if not more often than Turtles in Time.
Shredder's Revenge is therefore a game that with its many nods to the past is mainly intended for the fan and feels almost perfect for them. The game has everything from nostalgia to good, new additions. The game misses the finishing touches here and there, but the biggest problem is the chaos that arises in multiplayer and a few missed opportunities. At the bottom of the line, this is a game that is entertaining for everyone, but will not be equally special for everyone.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge distills all the components that made me fall in love with Konami's games as a kid while adding just a handful of modern features and extras to make the experience feel modern.

It«s impossible to ignore how great of an homage this game is for those that grew up with all things TMNT. Just pure delight.

We recommend TMNT: Shredder's Revenge on 9 out of 10 turtles. If the game was a bit longer, it would also get the maximum recommendation. But it will entertain you for a few hours, and above all, you and your friends will come back to it often. Just never forget the pizza. It simply makes you hungry while playing.

While Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge isn't perfect, especially when it comes to online multiplayer and the amount of content, it is a very good game. For the price, you won't be disappointed. Plus, it's a really great local multiplayer title where 4 to 6 players (depending on the platform) can play simultaneously. Older players will appreciate the nostalgic feel throughout the title. Younger players will find endearing heroes in a high quality beat them up.

Throwbacks to classic characters. A kickass soundtrack. Awesome pixel art. Great gameplay. All wrapped into one affordable package. I doubt even Shredder’s hatred for the turtles could keep him from playing this game during his downtime. I recommend this game to any fan of the series who has ever yelled ‘Cowabunga’ before devouring a slice of hot pizza, Brah.
As someone who has barely any nostalgia for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Shredder’s revenge turned out to be a fantastic beat ‘em up on its own. Stages are short but sweet, there’s enough gameplay mechanics to please both newcomers and veterans alike, and it’s just a blast all around to play. While I wished for more stage variety, I am sure to keep coming back to this for many years to come.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge is a testament to the Beat 'Em Up genre. If you ignore some issues that the game (and the genre) has, you'll find a turtley fun time worth picking up in an evening when you're free.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a fantastic throwback brawler with a solid presentation, fun combat and handful of modern additions that provide at least a little more depth than your typical 90’s arcade cabinet. I do wish there was a little more meat on these bones, but the Heroes in a Half Shell are worth going on this nostalgic trip with.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is the game I’ve wanted for decades. It’s not just a throwback to the games of my childhood, but a smart evolution of the formula. Every decision made in developing the game was a smart one, because this game feels incredible to play.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge was a glorious return to form being the best of what came before while advancing that in a very satisfying way.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a game for and by series fans, but also doubles up as one of the most fun beat 'em ups around. It even edges out mighty titles like Streets of Rage 4 and Scott Pilgrim with its intuitive controls and 6-player multiplayer. To put it into perspective, I am a fan of the Turtles but haven't followed them since I was a child. From start to finish, I was grinning from ear to ear as nostalgia washed over me and my love of beat 'em ups was catered to with its addictive gameplay. While it's more of an essential purchase for fans of the Ninja Turtles and provides long-time fans with references and nostalgia by the boatload, there is enough fun to be had here to not only justify its price tag but make it feel like that feel-good game of the summer. It's one where you can sit down either by yourself or with friends and really have a great time every time you play.
This is the perfect love letter to the '87 cartoon and the subsequent arcade games. Graphically it's supremely impressive but it's the slick controls and intense action that really seal the deal. The six-player local and online co-op, devilishly hard Arcade mode and lasting character upgrade system are like pineapples on an already ooey-gooey delicious pizza.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a true tribute to the 80's and 90's series, capable of transporting us to feelings that we affectionately keep in the back of our mind. Even more so, it manages on its own merit, to stand out as a competent beat'em up for new generations that want to try it. This is an essential title for any lover of the genre and a great way to spend an evening well spent.

More than just a rework of a classic formula, Shredder's Revenge is everything beat'em up fans could ask for, from its slick and intense combat system to its level design, graphics, music and 6-player co-op. Everything works as it should and what we have here combines the best of its inspirational work with the best ideas for a modern beat'em up.
