Though its visual upgrades feel superfluous, The Last of Us Part I makes key innovations in accessibility that'll allow more players to enjoy an enduring classic.

The Last of Us Part 1 is a game that doesn’t feel like it needs to exist, but I’m glad it does. Even though that outdated 2013 design still bleeds through, the visual upgrades, combat tweaks and accessibility improvements makes it feel like a brand new title. In time, this will become the de facto definitive edition of the game that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

Taken as a whole, it’s a very human tale that feels just as vital as ever. And with this faithful remake, here’s hoping that a new generation of gamers will get to experience one of the best games ever created. Period.

Yes, The Last of Us Part I for the PC has somewhat improved a little under two months in. Graphical stutters, framedrops, and other visual artifacts currently exist. If you're able to look past those graphical shortcomings, The Last of Us Part I is a truly exceptional game. Consider waiting just a bit more before jumping into one of the best series from Sony and Naughty Dog to date.

The Last Of Us Part 1 on PC is easily one of the best versions of the beloved title. While not everything hits as it should, so long as you have a good PC to play it on, you'll enjoy the experience.

The Last of Us Part 1 on PC is, in its current state, an awful port of one of the best games of all time. It's plagued with problems across all facets of gameplay and needs a lot of love to iron out the very clear issues. It's hard to recommend to anyone right now.

Despite its shoddy performance, The Last of Us Part I on PC is still one of the best games to ever grace Steam's virtual shelves.

The Last of Us Part 1 is a complex endeavor. Naughty Dog has overhauled one of gaming's touchstones, injecting more life into an intensely human experience while opening it up for new audiences and attempting to draw in veterans.

Overall, The Last of Us Part 1 is a stellar remake for those who want to play the game for the first time or haven't revisited it for a while. The graphics are gorgeous, the story is still thoroughly entertaining, and the Accessibility Options on offer are superb. Unfortunately, the repetitive combat and lack of multiplayer options do make the package less optimal for those who don't want to spend full price on The Last of Us Part 1.

The Last of Us Part I may be built on old foundations, but the structure remains as outstanding as it did almost a decade ago. The work that Naughty Dog has done here may appear granular, but the results speak for themselves.

This is like an old PC game that gets an HD texture pack by a modder, except that has already happened, officially, from Sony on PS4 and is again happening now. And you’re paying a premium for it each and every time.

The Last of Us Part I is, for all intents and purposes, the same The Last of Us that you know. It doesn't take liberties to completely reshape the experience and nor should it. It does, however, smartly enhance the original's combat through A.I. advancements, and drags the original's production values over the line to create a product that can stand unified with its more polished sequel. The Last Of Us: Part I is without doubt the most definitive version of The Last of Us on the market.

The Last of Us Part I finds a way to make an already incredible game even better. It may not be the most needed remake in the landscape of gaming, and I can't fault anyone for not wanting to pay full price for the experience, but it's undeniable just how much work has gone into this release. Phenomenal graphics, superb sound design, immersive DuelSense controller features, beneficial gameplay tweaks, and the best suite of accessibility features found in gaming. The Last of Us Part I is a must-play title for anyone still yet to experience Joel and Ellie's story.

In its current state, The Last of Us on PC should only be played by those who do not have access to a PlayStation 5 or can brute force the game with capable hardware.

The Last of Us Part I, on PC, is a broken game. We are not talking about the qualities of the title itself – which will always remain those of an undisputed masterpiece – but about the way in which a product of this magnitude has been converted to a personal computer. In the face of this, if you feel the need to relive the adventure of Joel and Ellie, our advice is to turn to the PS5 edition. In case you are not happy owners of a Sony console, you would better wait for the ritual patches, which – we are sure, but it will still take time – will fix the Naughty Dog title on PC, as it should be.

The Last of Us Part 1's PC debut has been hampered by an incredibly bad job done on the port. Aside from low frame rates, the game also suffers from random crashes, and the initial shader caching takes long enough to be an active mark against the game.

The Last of Us Part 1 on the PS5 was a joy to revisit and while not a new game, it feels familiar yet different and the highlight for me were the amazing visuals on this next-gen console, including the wonderful soundtrack and spectacular voice acting. This is a true interactive movie and both fans and newcomers will enjoy the story of Joel and Ellie as they explore this decimated world that is now brimming with even more emotion. Again, aming doesn't get any better than this!
