There’s not much else I can say about St. Dinfna Hotel. If you’ve played horror games then you know what you’ll be getting from this one. If you haven’t played many horror games in the past then the clumsiness of the combat, and the lack of assistance through the puzzles, makes this a poor entry point to the genre. Indeed, if you’re not familiar with the classic horror titles St. Dinfna is in homage to, the entire experience is almost pointless. I do think the developers have talent and passion for the genre, and I hope that this is successful so they can get a second run at it. If they do, all they need is to have their own voice and the confidence to add to the genre, rather than parrot it, and I do think they have it within them to create something special.

Fobia is a well-crafted horror experience with great puzzles, a lot of mystery and tolerable shooting.

Don't judge Phobia – St. Dinfna Hotel just because it's an indie title. The game is very well crafted and with incredible detail. Despite some technical and story-tightening issues, it can be considered one of the best horror games I've ever played.

There's a lot of potential in Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel, and it has some moments of excellence. Unfortunately, the lackluster visuals, weirdly unfriendly UI, and general awkwardness drag it down. It's a fine game to play if you want to scratch the survival-horror itch and you've already gone through a lot of other titles, but it doesn't do enough to distinguish itself. I'd be deeply interested to see a more polished and refined sequel because the potential doesn't shine through as well as it should.

Ultimately, Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel is a bit rough around the edges. Its voice acting isn’t great, which ruins the tension at times, as do its poor enemy animations and sub-par combat. But in an age where new, half-decent survival horror games are few and far between, this isn’t worth writing off completely. Its puzzles are enjoyable, and it does a good job of creating an eerie atmosphere. Particularly if you’re a fan of the classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, it’s worth checking into St. Dinfna Hotel.

Clearly inspired by the great horror games of decades past, Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel combines puzzles with scares to keep the players' interest.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel isn't a perfect game, but it is extremely satisfying. The game focuses above all on the atmosphere and the puzzles while the monsters look like were added without much thought. Without any guide, it will take you about ten hours to overcome the secret of St. Dinfna. If you like action games, you won't like your experience here. On the other hand, if you love to explore at a slow place to discover all its mysteries through puzzles and secret passages, Fobia will keep you spellbound.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel is a creepy horror title that occasionally lacks direction. Furthermore, it moves away from combat and relies more on quests, puzzles, and exploration. On top of this, it has an excellent story and a protagonist that you can empathise with. I loved its nod to Resident Evil and its many unique elements.

I had a fun time playing Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel with some frustrations regarding puzzles and lack of a map. During my 10-hour playthrough, i barely had any performance issues. The game is currently priced at 699 INR on Steam and for the price its asking its completely worth it and players looking for some horror action game after playing recent Resident Evil titles should feel right at home although it lacks some iconic antagonists like Mr.X and Lady Dimitrescu, it should fill a void of your horror games until a new Resident Evil title drops. Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel is available right on PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X and S and PC via steam.

Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel is a game that has been on my indie-horror radar for quite a while. The location within a vast hotel that seemingly shifts through various realities, not only screamed out the desperate isolation of ‘The Shining’ but also adds quite a hook to its narrative.

As a first effort for Pulsatrix Studios, FOBIA St. Dinfna Hotel is commendable. The hotel has exquisite level design and the numerous puzzles kept me interested and engaged over the campaign. I also love the camera alternate reality mechanic, it's a neat twist on a familiar concept. Combat needs improvement, as does the voice acting, but overall FOBIA is an easy recommend for fans of classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill.

An homage to the mysterious survival horror history we’ve got with an amazing sense of creeping dread and lonely helplessness despite your victories; Fobia: St Dinfna Hotel delivers on all fronts with a slice of perfect ambience.

Fobia may tread familiar ground, but it does so confidently and effectively. The game manages to build tension and fear without relying too heavily on jump scares, and its excellent sound design only adds to the spook factor. Anyone who likes survival horror games should give this one a try.

Everything that Fobia does has been done both worse and better by other titles. There’s potential in the concept, providing some of the rougher edges are smoothed off, however as it stands Fobia is the horror game equivalent of a plain bagel.

Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel offers a solid blend of challenging retro puzzles and some modern horror elements but lacks any enjoyable combat as well as a poor English dub.

The puzzle portion of the game is a major part that will have you backtracking a lot to progress. It can halt the progress of the game with how long it takes to solve something or find a one-room out of many within the hotel. The puzzles can range from an easy solution to pre-planning, so definitely have your thinking caps at the ready.

In game design wise, 'Fobia' is a great homage to the classic Survival Horrors such as Resident Evil. While the action part against the monster is rather sloppy, the hotel's level design and terrifying atmosphere are quite impressive.

The tense exploration of the hotel calls back to the good old days of Resident Evil. It’s a wonderfully designed location that is easy to get lost in thanks to the little direction, yet still doesn’t feel too obtuse. Unfortunately, the game is let down by some weak combat and a story that is completely forgettable.

Ultimately, how much enjoyment you get out of Fobia depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re just dying for gripping gunplay with myriad monsters to encounter, there’s no denying that you’ll probably be pretty disappointed with what this title has to offer. But if you can look beyond its rougher edges, Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel offers tantalizingly terrifying accommodations for survival horror fans.
