Stray Reviews
Overall, Stray has been quite an experience and I can say that it's one of those games that you'd really want to play if you enjoy a good story and exploration. It's a game for cat lovers, it's a game for cyberpunk lovers. It's a game for people who never stopped dreaming of getting out of a place they feel trapped in.
Stray is a delightful adventure full of beautiful visuals and endearing characters. I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring the post-apocalyptic city from the unique perspective of a feline who's dedicated to helping out the remaining robotic residents.
Stray remains a unique and captivating experience, drawing players in through its intriguing world, outstanding atmosphere, and charming feline protagonist. Its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 provides an excellent opportunity for newcomers to enjoy the adventure, with attractive 4K visuals that help offset some minor technical shortcomings. While the port falls short of delivering 60 FPS and makes limited use of features such as mouse controls, the overall experience remains highly enjoyable. More of a relaxing “cat walking simulator” than a challenging or highly replayable game, Stray stands out thanks to its engaging narrative, memorable soundtrack, and distinctive charm, making it an easy recommendation for players looking for a linear, immersive, and laid-back adventure.

Stray pounces onto Switch 2 with a visually stunning presentation that successfully mimics its high-end console counterparts, offering rich lighting and crisp upscaled resolutions. While the absence of a 60 FPS performance mode and minor upscaling artifacts hold it back technically, the game's atmospheric cyberpunk world-building and charming feline authenticity remain fully intact.
Having come from playing Stray on the PlayStation 5, you can tell that the Switch version tests the system’s limits from time to time. If you don’t mind the visual and performance downgrade, playing on the Switch is fine. Though I would wholeheartedly recommend playing on another platform to get a deeper experience of what the game has to offer graphically. Regardless of the platform you play on, Stray is the cat’s meow, and something I feel everyone should experience playing at least once.
With its beautiful atmosphere, emotional story and unique perspective of a cat, Stray still remains one of the most special indie games in recent years. Thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2 version, this is the perfect opportunity to dive into this unforgettable adventure for the first time or even return to it once again.

Stray is a must-play for every cat lover, because you simply won’t find a better game on this theme on the market. Exploring the unknown is in a cat’s nature, so it’s nice to step into that role for once and set out to discover a cyberpunk world where humans no longer have a place. After all, time spent with a cat is never wasted—and that goes for the gaming world, too.

Technically speaking, Stray on Nintendo Switch is at its best. Every now and then, though, there were a few minor glitches. For instance, my cat’s position shifted once—she was essentially teleported around a bit.

Stray is a lovely platforming adventure game that sees you playing as a cat in a somewhat dark, but ultimately hopeful world. Much of the gameplay revolves around exploring your surroundings or solving puzzles, but the real highlight is just how well it nails its animations and tone.
BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France made up mostly of felines and a few humans, created Stray: a third-person cat adventure game. Released for PlayStation and PC by Annapurna Interactive on July 19, 2022.
It is the companionship between the cat and B-12, as well as the revelatory discoveries that they find together, that make Stray such an endearing experience. Whether playfully leaping across rooftops or simply finding somewhere to curl up and take a well-deserved snooze, the originality that fuels the game’s creative concept rightly helps it to stand out from the crowd.
Stray astounds with its beautiful graphics, quirky characters, and puzzles that bring out the best and worst in a cat.
Stray is a stunning work of art. While it’s primarily an atmospheric journey, it offers enough meaningful activities, intriguing characters, and beautiful locations to explore, making it stand out clearly from the crowd. Additionally, the adventure as a whole is so cohesive, beautiful, and memorable that it can be recommended to just about anyone — even those who aren’t particularly fond of cats.

Stray is a title we highly recommend to all gamers. The review score is, however, a weighted average between the excellent experience we had and the lack of depth in the gameplay mechanics, which we still attribute some weight to because we believe gameplay is the most important part of any video GAME.

A stray cat, an ingenious drone, a cyberpunk city, strange inhabitants. All this and more can be found in Stray, an excellent port of the hit Nintendo Switch title.

A Purrfect way to spend an evening
I finished Stray in about 5 hours. It's a short game that can be extended a little longer if you want to find all the collectibles, but I have to tell you that the lenght of the experience is perfect. Everything happens at the right time and nothing takes too long, playing this from start to finish is like watching a great movie with a story that leaves you perfectly satisfied. Despite having a much larger universe than what is shown in the game, there is no need for Stray 2, what we have here is enough and beautifully wraps up the journey of an orange cat with his robot friend.

Stray is a phenomenal game with a great premise, excellent mechanics, and a story that will tug at your heart-strings. However, its port to the Nintendo Switch hardware is a little substandard. If a Switch was the only gaming hardware you owned, or you wanted the handheld experience, I could confidently suggest grabbing a copy. However, if you were planning to play it predominantly on a TV or monitor, I would suggest picking it up for another console instead (and if you haven’t yet, you absolutely should).
Stray is an adventure that aims to engage with its story and fascinating world rather than complex gameplay mechanics. Perfect for those seeking a short, atmospheric experience, the Nintendo Switch port retains the game's magic, making it a recommended choice for portable console lovers.
