While it stumbles a bit on the visual front, PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC still ends up being a faithful remake with many quality-of-life improvements.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac offers us an interesting update of the 1999 PlayStation title, offering a fun and interesting platform to see the character in other types of games. Even so, it is a remake that is too faithful and with few changes and novelties compared to the original title, which means that players who are looking for a little more depth are not attracted. In any case, it is a recommended game for its nostalgia and collection of the franchise.

A fun family game, a blast from the past and unquestionably one for the kids to jump into, especially those that are looking to learn about their parents as gamers.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac won't set the platforming genre on fire, but it checks all the appropriate boxes for fans of the yellow ghost-eating hero.

PAC-MAN World Re-PAC is a fun, but somewhat mediocre platformer for today's market

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is good 3D platformer, but struggles to stand out against other modern offerings in the genre.

PAC-MAN World: Re-PAC is a competent 3D platformer, but there are certainly better alternatives of its kind for the Switch. Its gameplay is extremely faithful to the 1990s original and although it is a virtue for those who are looking for the title for nostalgia, the gameplay from two decades ago seems a little dated these days, lacking basic features such as camera control. However, if you enjoyed the PlayStation original and would like to relive its gameplay, this title is what you are looking for.

A competent, if unwarranted, remake of an amiable 90s platformer that most people have long since forgotten – if they're even aware it existed in the first place.

Pac-Man World Re-PAC Edition might be worth checking out if you’re extremely curious about the game, genre, or even the time period it comes from, but there are just better games to spend your time with. If you insist then just try to get it on sale, or better yet, during its inevitable visit to Xbox Game Pass before making its way to the bargain bin.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a solid game that just doesn’t wow on any level. The concept feels from a different time and anyone who has nostalgia will likely enjoy the game for what it is. Still not entirely sure why this game was chosen for a remake as opposed to perhaps something like Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures from the 360 era. Those were much more competent platform games. Still it is a decent package with some frustrating older design.

The return of Pac-Man on gaming machines marks a historic event for all fans of the original title, because this re-edition carries the weight of the experience lived in 1999 lowering it in our days, after some small adjustments in terms of quality of life and visual modernization.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac succeeds in bringing the original to a new audience with a few extra bells and whistles, however, it fails to compete against modern 3D platformers.

I suspect that people with fondness for the original Pac-Man World, or even just this specific era of platforming games will be the ones who get the most from RePac. It's a style of game that has been out of fashion for a while, but it's simplicity could still hold some appeal. When you can get lovingly re-created versions of the standard-setting Crash Bandicoot series for the price of this though, the value proposition for a remaster of one fairly short and unremarkable game is hard to swallow. One for the fans.

Pac-Man World: Re-Pac is pretty much the same experience as it was in 1999, albeit with a minimal and barely noticeable facelift. But 1999 is not 2022…and this game didn't age well. Its simplified difficulty and presentation is best suited for kids, and – even then – is pretty generic in execution.

While Pac-Man World‘s gameplay doesn’t quite shine in 2022 – an era where games have evolved far beyond the need for constant back-tracking and filler content, this remaster is still a loving ode to Pac-Man, and refreshes the original game with style, colour, and tight controls.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac brings back the 1999 original and successfully adapts its visual world as well as control mechanics to our day, thus making a great effort at modernizing Pac-Man's platformer effort. While these are very welcome steps the game's foundations remain steeped in their time and as such, the levels are rather similar and with no links between them, while the camera is somewhat limited, in elements that are reminiscent of the original game's era. All in all, Re-Pac is a fun if by no means profound experience that will please fans of one of gaming's most iconic characters and of 1990s platformers.

PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC may not be one of the greatest games of all time being brought back for a new generation to discover, but it's still a decent enough 3D platformer that lots of people -- myself included -- are going to enjoy.

Following up this past May’s Pac-Man Museum+, Now Production is back for a second rerelease this year in Bandai Namco’s ever-expanding franchise. As the developer jumps from their arcade onslaught to a focus on the PlayStation’s 3D roots, Pac-Man World Re-Pac is yet another remaster from the yellow icon’s trove of experimental adventures fans shouldn’t miss out on even if it suffers from several issues. Like Namco’s recent Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Collection, Pac-Man World Re-Pac stands in the same line of fire as the publisher’s other remasters, as a decent-enough update does little to fix its actual content.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a great opportunity to experience a lost PSone gem on modern consoles. The formula can get a little repetitive in places but this niggle is minor compared to the overall fun I had with the game. The platforming is enjoyable, the moves are fun to use and most of all it cleverly weaves in aspects of the arcade game which brought a smile to my face almost as large as Pac-Mans. Whether you are familiar with Pac-Man or not this is a very good 3D platformer that hasn’t lost its charm all these years later

Despite what certain official listings state, Pac-Man World Re-Pac is certainly not an RPG, but it does do some creative things in the 3D platformer space nonetheless.
