Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed might be a brutally honest remake of the original game, but that doesn't make it any more pleasant to sit through all its rough parts. Few elements of the core gameplay remain as fun as they were on the PS2, but it's far too shallow to be worth it, especially when it is still riddled with performance issues that can seriously effect your experience.

It's apt that the character you play as in Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed is named Crypto. Like crypto, the game is an interesting idea on paper, but we don't really need it, we don't want to hear about it, it keeps crashing, and if you invest any money into it then you're probably going to end up with buyer's remorse.

If you’re expecting Destroy All Humans 2! – Reprobed to be more of a remaster of the original game than a remake, you’ll likely be happy with the results. The game looks great and feels extremely faithful to the time it was released. Those with nostalgia for the original will get what they need out of it. After finally spending some time with it, though, I can say confidently that this was only ever an okay game, featuring the same lack of content and empty areas that open-world games of that era were known for. Today’s open-world games are better at creating an overall experience worth your time.

Like the story that sets in the 60s, it seems that the developers' mindset is also stuck back then, as none of the gameplay mechanisms are upgraded to meet today's standards in this supposedly remade title.

The new version of Destroy All Humans 2 is painfully mediocre that nevertheless manager to keep me entertained for a while.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed has managed to deliver the nostalgia for players, and it was strange but fun at the same time to play a classic on a current-gen console platform. Although, there are some areas that needed improvement, which would have made the experience far much greater. However, for the money, it’s pretty steep, especially for a game which had originally released two generations ago.

The updated graphics look good but the limitations of the gameplay of the era do show as it would be nice to have a bit more options with the movement of the Saucer during missions.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed, apart from being a faithful remake, is also a very faithful continuation of last year's Destroy All Humans! and this has the result of seeing a very clear but also without many surprises project.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed brings the original title into the modern age, and while the gameplay is massively improved, some bad ideas, dated jokes, and an abundance of glitches mar the overall experience.

Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed shows this cult classic did not age well. Beyond dialogue, updates to gameplay and graphics feel hollow when game-breaking bugs are still prevalent…That isn’t to say you won’t find fun here. But that fun may just be restricted to a 10-12 hour jaunt through memory lane.

Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed is better than the first remake on paper, but Reprobed’s advancements are severely diminished because of its repetitive nature.

Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is so frustrating because it is a great game that is buried underneath technical issues and glaring cuts. Its potential was wasted keeping it out of reach from being a perfect remake.

Like many of the B-movies that inspired it, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed isn't something that will be considered great by a general consensus, but does have a certain appeal to the right audience.

Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed is a gorgeous, destructive romp across multiple cities dragged down by its original platforms' limitations. Unshackling Crypto from the confines of previous gaming hardware might give him the ability to jet to new heights, but it’s unknown how much a new game would be able to maintain the raunchy spirit of its predecessors. Perhaps enough interest in these remakes will encourage THQ Nordic to think about creating new adventures for the constantly aggravated and devilishly malicious Furon named Cryptosporidium.

Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed is a good-looking remake and certainly has its fun moments, but the repetitive missions of its predecessor remain, and there's a lot of bugs that need addressing. Crypto remains a fun protagonist and the gameplay is entertaining, but it feels this remake needed a bit more care.

Crypto's material has worn a bit thin. While Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed does a respectable job of making his second rampage look good, its small assortment of new weapons and enemies makes it feel like an unambitious expansion rather than a sequel.

Evaluating Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is a difficult task. On one hand, it does a great job of updating a 2006 game to match, at least, the visual standards of modern gaming, but on the other, it never took the chance to make sure that the gameplay and writing are of similar quality. Even if the intention was to retain that B-movie style, this remaster just feels like a missed opportunity that makes it quite difficult to have your mind blown in face of an alien threat – unless you’ve always been a fan.

Despite a fun co-op mode, Reprobed it's just not enough for making us wanting more Destroy all Humans games, right now. This series needs to be refreshed from ground up in order to have something new to say and offer.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed is extremely accurate to the original version. This can make the game come off as old and outdated. But for some, that nostalgia kick may hit just the right spot. As it stands, those who loved Destroy All Humans 2! on consoles should consider Reprobed if they can no longer access their older devices. But the remake doesn’t do enough to change things up, and those who never experienced the game in 2006 may be easily put off.
