Slime Rancher 2 Reviews
Slime Rancher 2’s is a fantastic and stylish work-in-progress with strong bones, but little meat on them (at least right now).
Slime Rancher 2 may play largely the same as its predecessor but, between the beautiful new world and some key quality-of-life improvements, the future looks promising for Monomi Park's sequel.
Slime Rancher 2's incredible charm helps soften the blow of what's occasionally a grind.
Slime Rancher 2 is a refined and slimy good time, building on what made the first game work. There's colorful exploration, exciting farming, and some of the cutest video game characters since Pokémon.

Having played our fair share of a handful of sandbox, farming, and life sim games like Stardew Valley, Coral Island, Mirthwood, Wanderstop, and Palia, Slime Rancher 2 is yet another delightful addition that players can spend hours investing in. With a new location to explore, spending hours personalizing your Ranch and interacting with the environments, every minute spent adventuring and engaging with the adorably wiggly slimes is an absolute joy!
Slime Rancher 2 not only feels like a great sequel that builds on foundations laid with the original, but also a great game in its own right.
Slime Rancher 2, of course, takes many things from the pre-laid foundation of its predecessor, very rarely for worse.
A charming and relaxing adventure that’s fun in short bursts
Slime Rancher 2 might be more of the same, but it's still really good at the end of the day. With a new world, refinements to its design and mechanics, and tons of quality-of-life improvements, what else do you need in a sequel?
While it’s not perfect and could use a bit of rethinking in some of it’s systems, Slime Rancher 2 is still a fun, low conflict game. I honestly think everyone needs at least one game they can turn on and just relax with and much like the first game, it’s a good option to go with if you’re looking for a fun cozy game.
Slime Rancher 2 is the definition of a cute farming game. There are adorable slimes to collect, beautiful landscapes to explore, and a fun, engaging gameplay loop. However, after a while, it can become repetitive. All in all, if you enjoyed the original, you will have a good time with the sequel.
Slime Rancher 2 is silly, strange, and always fun, even though it has some rough spots. It’s a game that knows its players want to get lost in small jobs, hunt for the next type of Slime, decorate one more corral, or go a little further into the unknown. You can do more than just farm slimes. It’s fun to find order in chaos and maybe make a lot of money in the process.
As it is right now, Slime Rancher 2 is a fantastic game that should appeal to both returning fans and those getting into the series for the first time.
If you loved Slime Rancher, this is a no-brainer. It’s more of the same, but bigger, better, and more varied.
Slime Rancher 2 is a stunning game. The visuals are incredible, the gameplay is fun and addictive and the world is fun to explore. It is the epitome of what a sequel should be, an improvement upon the predecessor with few drawbacks. Though the game suffers some frame rate drops and the 'combat' could be tweaked to be more creative. Slime Rancher 2 remains a fantastic game.
