Touching on themes such as companionship and trust, The Last Guardian's tale is minimally delivered and powerful. Without spoiling much, it will be a topic of debate for years to come.

Like a three-legged dog or a cycloptic cat, it’s almost endearing in its jankiness.

An amusing journey with beautiful moments in a mysterious world that keeps you wondering. But as you progress the story, things will start feeling tedious as you spend most of your time just climbing and walking around without a real challenge, especially since the same mechanics are used over and over. Compared to its predecessors, it has the elements that made them special, but the flaws that prevents it from being as good.

'The Last Guardian' is filled with bouts of frustration, but it's also proof that gaming is the most powerful medium for creators. I got to experience a genuine bond with Trico over the course of the game, and that can't be replicated elsewhere as it's dependent on actual interaction. Ueda's third title as a director is filled with flaws and some straight-up bad design in spots, but it manages to overcome its shortcomings to be something truly special.

A brave vision that communicates a unique message —almost anachronic—. In a sea of contemporary explosions, noise and violence, The Last Guardian is a pause that contributes to videogames with something special despite some design annoyances.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus set the bar ridiculously high, and years of delays didn't help, but The Last Guardian fits into the series and sets itself apart from the rest of the gaming world, rounding out the Ico trilogy as some of the biggest, prettiest, most unforgettable experiences anyone will find in gaming. Technical issues like framerate, glitches, and controls (most or all of which will hopefully be patched out as time goes on) don't stop this from being a gorgeous and highly emotional gaming experience—exactly what fans have come to expect from Fumito Ueda. The development team's vision was clear, if the execution was a little lacking, and the final product doesn't feel like one that should've taken ten years to hit shelves, but The Last Guardian is still an achievement in both storytelling and game development that gamers shouldn't miss out on.

The Last Guardian was 10 years in the making, and it feels like it, for all the good and bad that implies. It's a masterpiece in terms of creating a living, breathing AI partner who is a wild and dangerous beast. The atmosphere, the environments and the puzzles are a delight. It's impossible to get around the fact that the game is built with frustration as a feature, and your enjoyment of it will depend on whether you're enough of a cat person to mind spending 10 minutes solving a three-second puzzle. It's a remarkable game that is all the more remarkable for almost living up to 10 years of hype. If you have the patience, The Last Guardian is a must-play for PS4 owners.

More frustrating than it is fun, The Last Guardian wastes its original story and charming creature under clunky controls, questionable design, and poor technical performance.

The Last Guarding is a unique experience that might not suit every gamer. It is a slow based game that require you to indulge in it's amazing world and once you do you will in love with it. The heart of the game is the emotion and connection you build with Trico that turns into trust that will take you forward. If only it had a better camera system maybe it would have really been one of the greatest games of this generation.

The Last Guardian is an unique experience which everyone should have it. Two companions in a mysterious world, create an experience which you cannot easily forget. If you are patient with some of the puzzles and can manage Trico, you can enjoy The Last Guardian. The game has some frame rate and technical issues but they hardly have an influence on overall experience of the game. The Last Guardian should be played because it isn't like any other game.

The biggest question I keep coming back to in between moments of awe and terrible frustration is, 'Is The Last Guardian any fun to play?' Ultimately, I feel like it isn't. The gameplay is too purposefully obstructed, too deliberately designed to be rough around the edges.

The game is deep, meaningful, and powerful. It's reflective, different, and beautiful. It may well end up being more divisive than Ueda's previous masterpieces, but that doesn't mean it's not a masterpiece, from one of the industry's true auteurs. Play this game. Even if you hate it, it's going to broaden your horizons around what games are truly capable of.

Imagaining that a game like this was cancelled is utterly painful and bothersome. We must greet sony for crediting such brilliant idea and for inspiring Ueda and his team to finally finish The Last Guardian. The game which was planned to be released in the 7th generation is now one of the most amazing results in the 8th generation.

In Technical terms, The Last Guardian is a disaster. Control issues, bad camera angels and graphical bugs are all over the place. Nevertheless, The art design, character development and story are so incredibly good that you can close your eyes on all of those technical issues and just enjoy a masterpiece.

An enchanting adventure with an amazing atmosphere and an incredible creature with loads of personality. Camera and controls are a let-down but aren’t enough to stop this being excellent overall.

I've been waiting for this day to come with the hopes of The Last Guardian's success and that it wouldn't disappoint me, and I'm glad that it didn't. It may not have the most compelling story and has some struggles to hit a stable 30FPS, but the bond of Trico and the Boy alongside its artistic game design and core gameplay mechanics makes The Last Guardian one of the most exciting cinematic experiences next to Uncharted 4. It's a breathtaking adventure and a beautiful work of art!

Trico is battered and bruised and bloody by the end of this story and he remains a faithful friend until the end. His sacrifice and the emotional weight it carries are incredible. Near the end there is a climactic battle and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a character I care about so much be so utterly brutalized. It’s haunting. He risks everything to protect you, everything. And it feels so good when you get to return the favour in one of the most bittersweet endings to any game I can remember.

The Last Guardian might have its issues, but it manages to overshadow a lot of them with sheer excellence. The controls, frame rate, and AI can be messes at times, but the storytelling and personality are ingenious.
