Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Reviews
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a sparkling rendition of a beloved classic. Though a distinct lack of challenge and some unnecessary padding hamper the experience, a trove of wonderful characters, spirited worlds, charming dialogue, and memorable encounters fill the heart and rouse the senses, resulting in one of the finest adventures in The Great Gonzalez’s illustrious career.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is an amazing remake of an excellent game. While it isn’t perfect, it provides a highly entertaining experience in almost every way.
Nintendo offers us, once again, to remember one of its most legendary games from previous generations, recently the Game Boy Advance with Mario vs. Donkey Kong and even more recently from Super Nintendo with Super Mario RPG, only this time for the Gamecube. Paper Mario: The Millennial Door is a great game that every fan of the big N should enjoy, and now is a great opportunity to do so thanks to the great facelift it has in addition to the subtle, but interesting additions it brings. An adventure that, let's be honest, will not pose any challenge for an average gamer, but it can easily take 30 hours to finish, a few extra hours if we want to do it 100%, but little more.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door probably has one or two issues that might annoy you, but it's also one of the greatest and wildest role-playing games ever made. It's undoubtedly one of the finest and most adored role-playing games of all time. The remake adds several renewed concepts that make it stand apart even more. It's hard not to admire the way it continues the unique turn-based combat mechanism of the previous installments while adding gorgeous visuals, a wide range of characters, and hilarious scripting.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door overall story is fun and filled with plenty of characters and zany humour. Each chapter has its own story, making this one of Nintendo’s longest Mario adventures that feel fresh and never boring. The battles with the turn-based RPG system have aged well, staying simple enough for everyone of all ages in the family to enjoy. If you missed playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door when it first came out, you’re in for a treat with the Switch version. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a classic Mario RPG, and now it’s a must-buy for the Nintendo Switch.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is still my favorite of the series. Not only is it the best title, it's also the most complete, thanks in no small part to its endearing characters. I hope Nintendo will continue in this slightly more purist direction for JRPG fans. It's the kind of experience that offers a lot for the money, and this reissue is a great success.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door nails what a faithful remake should be. Some small improvements make the gameplay even better in this sharply written story that's charming until the very end.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is both the best Paper Mario entry and a Switch game everyone should own and play.
No one will be surprised when an RPG classic is remade with attention to detail and turns into an absolute highlight! And that's exactly what Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is! Of course, in a faithful remake, the weaker passages, such as the Job Agency missions, have to be included to be faithful, but these low-points are hardly noticeable in the fantastic overall package. The story, the characters, the battle system, the brand new graphics - a victory for Super Mario all the way! Few games have earned a well-done retelling as much as The Thousand-Year Door!

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is still a great mixture of RPG and platformer with fine papercraft graphics and humorous story. But in terms of content, the visually advanced Switch version delivers nothing new for dye connoisseurs of the GameCube original, which makes it less interesting for them as for players who experience the remastered version for the first time.

Overall a beautiful looking game, one that feels fresh and in-keeping with recent modern Mario efforts.

All in all, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is an easy recommendation. For those that never got a chance to play the original game, there's no better time than the present, and the Nintendo Switch version is easily the best way to play it.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a classic Mario role-playing game that every fan of the chubby plumber should play. If you've already played the original, it's worth taking another trip into this paper world thanks to the completely revamped graphics and soundtrack. The simplified role-playing mechanics and the interactivity of the turn-based battles make the game accessible even to beginners and players who don't usually like RPGs. The numerous environments impress with their quirky humor, excellently written characters and a beautiful paper look. What I didn't like were the annoying backtracking passages and some tedious mechanics. They unnecessarily slow down the pace as the game progresses.
