Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Reviews
Despite my unearned misgivings at the game's initial announcement, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader somehow became likely my favorite title so far from Owlcat Games. Likely due to a combination of well-designed turned-based gameplay, a better focus of gameplay systems that don't needlessly detract from the core experience, and simply waiting for a few additional layers of polish to give the title a chance to be represented in the best manner possible. While still a little uneven in terms of gameplay progression and technical proficiency, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is an engaging game that's brimming with things to discover and a uniquely compelling narrative that is at times both hopeful and poignant.
Warhammer 40000: Rogue Trader does a great job of putting you in the shoes of space royalty. You travel around galaxies and explore new areas while addressing issues that plague your rule. Combat is strategic and encourages you to use the strengths of your companions. Exploring new galaxies and harvesting resources immerses you in the role of Rogue Trader, encouraging you to be the ruler you want to be. Unfortunately, there's a lot of information to learn for players new to Warhammer 40K and the maps aren't very helpful. But if you are willing to spend the time to learn and experiment, there's a fun strategy RPG waiting to be explored.
Paying extensive homage to the source material while weaving a compelling tale of its own, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is an involving experience with fun combat and memorable characters.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader not only promises, but delivers the very thing it was designed to be – a meaty, authentic Warhammer 40k game that feels right at home in its RPG trappings.
One of the best video games ever created about the Games Workshop universe.

So if you're a Baldur's Gate 3 fan hankering for another expansive CRPG adventure, your first glance may put you off Rogue Trader. But if you temper your expectations, and give it some time to grow on you, you'll find a lot to love. And if you're a Warhammer 40k fan hoping for some grim dark adventuring among the stars, you'll love it all the more.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a phenomenal roleplaying experience offering an immersive story and an impressive, highly-connected web of features and systems. The soundtrack, writing and voice over are all deliciously over the top, and gameplay provides a new step forward in a tactical cRPG genre, rewarding positioning, teamwork and attention to details. If you are new to the Warhammer franchise, the game can serve as a perfect stepping stone into the universe.
A long awaited Warhammer 40K CRPG executed superbly not only in terms of combat but also story, atmosphere, and character building.
There's a pretty good RPG hiding in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. The story is interesting, the quests are plentiful, the characters are well rounded, and there's plenty of depth in the RPG systems. However, the graphical presentation is merely passable, while the performance varies so greatly that you need a ton of patience to get through all of the hitching and long load times. This is a game to be avoided for now, but if the promised patches improve the performance issues, then those who crave a really meaty RPG in the infamous grimdark sci-fi universe will have a very good time.
A great narrative-driven strategy-RPG that is held back by performance issues
Rogue Trader is one of the best games in Warhammer 40,000 universe despite all its flaws

At last W40K universe has a CRPG game. Even for those who are not W40K fans, this is a great game.

The massive isometric RPG from the popular universe is primarily very controversial. It offers rich content, but some elements in the game are impractical and unnecessarily complicated. Even so, Rogue Trader deserves the attention of fans of the genre.

Even with the bugs, Warhammer 40K fans will enjoy Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader immensely. If you are a tactics RPG fan looking for your next fix, this is your game.
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader really is a tale of two games. When the game first launched, it was rough to play. Framerate issues, freezing, and crashing all plagued the initial release on the Switch 2. Since its release, however, there has been a patch that has resolved many of these issues. My review score is based on the patched experience. If you already own the game on the Switch 2, it is worth giving it another go, as many of the issues have been addressed. If you are thinking about picking it up for the first time, the game is in a much better state now than it was at launch. I just wish the game had been given an extra two to three weeks to fix these issues before its initial release.
With Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, Owlcat Games invites us on a space odyssey that immerses us in a dark and complex universe, in an RPG full of action, intrigue, and moral decisions. A title full of epic moments, decisions that shape the fate of entire star systems, and a very well-told story. A video game created by a passionate team that had the vision to bring to life an ambitious role-playing experience set in Warhammer. And they succeeded.

As it stands, Rogue Trader is a game that is good but should have been substantially better, given the pedigree of the studio. It had all the pieces to be something truly fantastic, but a wealth of technical issues and poor execution caused the game to suffer far more than it succeeded.
To summarise, "Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader" is a good game for fans of the CRPG genre. It combines a great story, interesting characters, in-depth character development and an entertaining combat system. However, it is also a game that requires you to take a break from time to time, as the flood of information is almost endless.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader faithfully digitizes the Games Workshop tabletop RPG, but this fidelity can be overwhelming for non-fans. Once you overcome the learning curve and technical issues, it delivers a satisfying experience that does justice to the grim universe of Space Marines, heretics, and demons.

Despite any flaws, wherever they might be found, Rogue Trader was undoubtedly created by people with passion and knowledge about the Warhammer 40,000 setting and lore, who sought to create an excellent Warhammer RPG and, for the most part, they succeeded.
