Overwatch's core gameplay is fantastic, but it's a one trick pony that fails to hold your attention for more than a few matches at a time.

A sublime execution on nearly every front, Overwatch turns a world in need of heroes into one of the best arena shooters since their heyday, and stands alongside Blizzard's finest as some of the most necessary playing in its respective genre.

Blizzard has created a solid team FPS but right now it's light on content.

Overwatch abandons a lot of what we've come to expect from multiplayer shooters to create a fresh, exciting, fantastically entertainingly experience. I may never play anything else.

Here's the most important question of the end of May: is it worth giving $170 for a Blizzard FPS? Oh yes, because Overwatch rules!

The bottom line is that Overwatch is easy to pick up and understand, and amazingly fun to play.

Overwatch is the spiritual successor to TF2 in many ways, and if you haven't heard it said before, it's worth a look if you come from there. Even for total newcomers, though; the world, the characters, and the sheer chaos of skills, ultimates, and counter picks makes this game not worth missing.

A decent hero-based shooter that is light on content and heavy on grinding for cosmetics, unless of course you'd like to buy some micro-transactions.

Overwatch heralds a brave new age for hero shooters, competitive multiplayer shooters and just shooters in general. It's a unique yet fun experience that's accessible to all and flawless with its execution.

Overwatch is, without a doubt, a triumph in almost every aspect. It manages to bring a bright and colourful aesthetic to a genre that has previously been reluctant to do so.

Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch brings to the table an accessible style of gameplay with a diverse group of characters. Even with these features, the game finds itself in a crowded world of first-person shooters. The question is… is it enough for Overwatch to distance itself from the other games?

So far, Overwatch is everything I want it to be. This is the perfect game for fans of old-school FPS’s with a dash of RPG for flavor. It’s competitive and intense at the same time as it’s light and fun. Even as the hours pass and playtime gets longer, there are more and more aspects of the heroes and maps to discover. Every game will leave you with new strategies for your next match. This title lends itself greatly to the E-sports crowd, and will likely have a league in the near future.

As was to be expected from a Blizzard title that had much to prove, Overwatch excels in presentation with its overall production value, hero and map design. The beautiful, sharp and colorful graphics are accompanied by a heroic soundtrack composed by Derek Duke, Neal Acree, Sam Cardon and Cris Velasco. This is one great looking shooter with hot cosmetics and some fun hero dialogues added in the mix while keeping things real on the side of system requirements!

And that's what brings me here: sitting on the edge of my seat, back erect and eyes wide as my match in Dorado comes to an explosive, victorious end. I look with glee and see that Junkrat and I secured the play of the game, and I can't help but feel smug as the entire lobby watches the moment I turned the game around with my ultimate. I watch again as Junkrat heaves back the ripcord to a remote controlled tire filled with explosives. I drove it straight up and over a wall, launched it into the air, landed in the middle of the heavily-defended objective, and exploded to take out 4 defenders who were just about to secure it for themselves. I feel like I'm being lifted on top of virtual shoulders as my teammates upvote my performance during the post-game results. I clench my teeth as the experience bar shoots forward, stopping just shy of the next level and a new loot box. Foolishly I glance sidelong at my phone and notice it's 2:40 AM. "Just one more match."

A stellar online experience that feels familiar yet still entirely new. It takes something that people have enjoyed for a number of years, appeals to fans of the online shooter genre whilst also adding a layer of inclusiveness to makes it fun for casual players too. And for a Blizzard release, what else could you ask for.

At times Overwatch does feel like an old school multiplayer shooter but Blizzard has a knack of taking something classic and making it better. The gameplay is fun, the characters are diverse and really make you think, especially when their your enemy!
