In isolation, F1 24 remains a slick, deep, and marvellous motorsports experience, but it’s hard to argue it’s essential for returning players.

Less assured and sorely missing story mode, this feels like a downgrade over F1 23.

F1 24 is too familiar in many areas, but an overhauled Driver Career mode and emphasis on aggressive racing ensure that Codemasters' latest is still an engaging motorsports experience.

The removal of content hurts this year's official Formula One game. F1 24 went in a bold direction with its physics, but now the game borders on a casual racer due to the lack of difficulty for simulating a Formula One car. Racing will be more aggressive because these cars stay glued to the track with minimal punishment for pushing the car. The graphics and audio options are where the game stands out the best. The ongoing bugs will continue to hamper the experience, so here's to hoping these things are addressed. It's neat to take one of the Legendary Drivers into the career mode, as Senna hasn't been playable in years in the series. The changes to Career Mode are subtle, but a good bit of the modes come down to the same experience previously seen or just a mode to get rewards or a high score. Maybe the overhaul needs to begin with focusing on current-generation systems.

F1 24 delivers a long-awaited overhaul of Career Mode and new physics and handling mechanics to deliver the most immersive experience to date, but falls a little short of being a truly worthwhile reason to upgrade from last year’s game.

F1 24 is not the definitive simulation experience, but it is an improvement over previous installments of the saga in terms of physics and simulation. It is also interesting for the number of options and possibilities to make it a game that is quite accessible to all types of audiences, with a special mention for the new and renewed career mode.

EA F1 24 is the best rendition of the sport yet, and a fantastic simulation of the iconic motorsport. If you want to forge your own Drive To Survive-style superstardom, this is the perfect place to start. If it's good enough for Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, then it's good enough for the rest of us.

However, while F1 24 marks significant progress, it's not without its shortcomings. Persistent issues such as the lack of finesse in AI behavior and complexities in currency management detract slightly from the overall enjoyment. Moreover, support for enthusiast hardware remains inconsistent, and certain features like the absence of custom team entry in co-op career mode may disappoint some players. Despite these drawbacks, F1 24 remains a compelling choice for fans of the franchise, offering a thrilling and immersive racing experience worthy of consideration. F1 24 proves to be a worthwhile addition to the series, albeit with room for further refinement in future iterations.

F1 24 is a good starting point for those approaching the world of Formula 1 games for the first time, but if you are looking for substantial new features and mechanics compared to previous games, you will probably be disappointed.

F1 24 is too much of a continuity and there wouldn't be as much of a problem if it hadn't tinkered with a physics and handling system that now feels worse than the last installment. The considerable improvement of the career mode is a positive thing, although the lack of other new features leaves us with a solid game, but without major incentives.

The ability to play as real drivers adds a raft of new possibilities, in what is the most enjoyable and authentic Formula One game of the modern era.

There's the sense EA are keeping F1 video games' true potential under lock and key, as there's plenty of room to make a significant evolution of the brand, but F1 24 really isn't it despite a raft of subtle and appreciable improvements.

If you’ve eagerly anticipated this year’s entry into Codemasters’ popular F1 series, I hate to say that you might be better off sticking to F1 23. Time will tell if the developers can correct the issues plaguing the handling system. I anticipate they’ll have a fix released sooner rather than later, given that even professionals like Lando Norris have admitted that F1 24 feels awkward and unrealistic. If you’re committed to jumping in this year, do so with your expectations in check. Even if Codemasters fixes F1 24’s most glaring issues, the fact still remains that this is an excessively minor update.

F1 24 is a definite step backward for the Codemasters and Electronic Arts series. Many of the new features introduced in this new iteration are not only unconvincing, but in fact go to the detriment of a game formula that is admittedly old but at least works. With less content than last year and an outdated graphics compartment, the 2024 edition of the official Formula 1 video game is nothing more than a homework assignment. While waiting for a revolution that may never come, unfortunately this remains the only alternative for fans of the top motorsport championship.

F1 24 is another excellent entry in the franchise from Codemasters. It's not the most exciting update of all time, lacking any major changes that give a wow factor, but those tweaks that have been made work well and provide players old and new alike with something substantial to enjoy. It might not be a necessary purchase for those who have owned an entry from the last couple of years, but Codemasters once again proves its ability to make the best racing games on the market.

EA now has a lot to do to quickly correct an F1 24 that still has interesting potential, but which suffers enormously from its far too fast release pace, where an annual update between two opuses would allow the teams to breathe to offer a real finished game.

After last year's good chapter, Codemasters could fall into temptation and not update the package that much. Instead, the team had the courage to dare, inserting various innovations that unfortunately are not all in focus.

F1 24 surpasses what was seen in the previous edition, you can see the usual talent of Codemasters and the experience they have been gaining with the franchise, although in certain instances you can see that the graphics engine is starting to get a bit old.

Here I was thinking Codemasters couldn't possibly top F1 23, and then the studio goes ahead and drops this little beauty. EA Sports F1 24 is stuffed to the sidepods with content, but it's the impressive handling model that sets it apart – this is easily the most unadulterated fun I've had playing an F1 game. Dynamic Handling is a good thing, then.

During my time with F1 24, I found that there are a fair few things that were improved from last year's title, but with some game modes missing entirely, what else is there to do?
