Neva Reviews
Neva is what happens when you let actual artists make a game. That we rarely get works like this is depressing, but there’s no sense that anything in Neva was produced according to what a suit thought would be best for the share value. Yes, Neva lacks in subtlety, but it is nonetheless a beautiful, heartfelt and evocative experience. It makes it clear up front that its goal is to make you cry, and even though you know what it’s doing, you are going to cry on cue at the end of it.
Neva is a great looking game that provides a few hours of joy from simply being immersed in its world. The gameplay, story, and pacing are a bit more subdued, however.
Neva is a work of art that you will never get tired of looking at, and that has more craftsmanship than GRIS in every way. I demand that it be exhibited in museums.

The combat is a great addition to the video game aspect that definitely filled in a hole for me in the experience. Nomada Studio continues their penchant for making gorgeous games that are packed with emotional resonance. Now that they've told game stories about parents and pets, we'll see how they can make us all cry next.
Neva is a stunning game that tackles the themes of parenthood and climate change perfectly. With an immersive soundtrack, beautiful art, and an emotional journey, it's a challenging platforming-adventure that fans new and old will love.
Neva is another proof that Nomada Studio is one of the best studios at telling beautiful, deep and sentimental stories. It's charming, lovely and gorgeous thanks to the characters, their relationship and how it evolves, all the messages it has and, of course, the artistic direction. It is very short, but the impact will last forever.

Leaning on a narrative of affective contemplation, guided by the poignant emotions of music in perfect tune with each moment, and built on visual art of profound beauty as few games achieve, Neva is an essential unit, a meaningful experience that does not focus on platforming action, but employs it as a small part that makes up an indivisible artistic whole, determined and hopeful.

Neva is a fascinating artistic experience. Its short duration also allows you to find some time to enjoy this experience, at a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to devote ourselves to our hobbies.

Neva presents itself as a title that manages to skilfully balance narrative and gameplay mechanics, where its strength lies in its ability to combine an excellent artistic compartment, which reflects the emotions of the protagonists in every detail, with gameplay that evolves along with the relationship between Alba and the wolf. Neva is an experience recommended not only to platformer and action-adventure lovers, but to anyone looking for a game capable of offering a strong narrative, supported by smooth gameplay. An adventure that touches deep chords and deserves to be experienced from start to finish.

Despite not having the same poetical storytelling that made Gris stand out, Neva is still a truly unique experience: it has a meaningful art direction and better gameplay mechanics than its predecessor, it's a wonderful example of experimental game design and, most importantly, it's a really important portrayal of nature, life and death. Another must play from Nomada Studio.

Another utterly stunning platformer from the team that brought you Gris. The sometimes challenging combat does feel out of place, but the engaging visuals, music, and characters are more than enough to make Neva a worthwhile experience.

Neva is yet another Nomada Studio gem. Its platforming, puzzle-solving, and combat are visually stunning and will surely keep you engrossed. You get a sense of the story's greatest elements through the main protagonist, the wolf, as you watch her mature alongside Alba.
Neva is undoubtedly the most ravishing game we have played in a few years. The game sets a benchmark for all platformer games and sends a message that a story that can steal your heart and the visuals that you can’t look away from are enough for a perfect platformer game. Neva is our favourite game we have played this year.
Neva is an outstanding short experience that wows on so many fronts. The visuals are extremely appealing and vibrant, while the story tells an emotional, wholesome tale that feels elevated thanks to telling it in a more unique way through actions versus dialogue. The gameplay is a bit simple, but it does the job for the scope of the game. And while I had some stopping points with the environment, it was ultimately worthwhile and didn't take too long to figure out. It is also perfect to play on the Steam Deck, and I can't say that enough! This is an essential for your portable library, especially if you have an OLED screen.
An immersive atmosphere and narrative and a unique and impeccable graphic and sound design

Neva is a new centerpiece for Nomada Studio (and for the never-too-praised “observers” at Devolver Digital). The Spanish studio's new title manages to push itself “beyond”, adding a layer of playful complexity that is satisfying and consistent with the narrative and audio-visual presentation of the title, the flagships of the production. A truly recommended game for everyone, appreciable on, precisely, “different” levels. Neva is a proud exponent of the harmony between art and video game.
