BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is a solid representative of fighting games with an original concept. The battles are extremely satisfying, and you can truly feel the power of these characters. However, Tamsoft did a mediocre job with the task of creating a game adaptation of the anime. On one hand, they included a lot of accurate content from the world’s lore. On the other hand, when it comes to presenting events through in-engine cutscenes, there are noticeable oversights and errors that could have been avoided. Nevertheless, this is undoubtedly the best BLEACH game to have hit the market so far. Both fighting game veterans and fans of Japanese pop culture will have a great time with this title.

With a lack of modes and features in both online/offline play, (just three modes if you include the tutorial) / marred by poor server issues, and some pretty basic fighting mechanics; It is hard to support a purchase for the full recommended retail price. All the flash and impressive presentation values soon wear off. Story mode has its highs and lows that hardcore fans will love due to its faithful implementation of the original comic tale. Bleach REBirth Of Souls will prove popular to hardcore fans who love the nostalgia factor, (whilst arguably just grateful for an actual Bleach video game release). I felt the game could and should offer much more. A lack of depth in modes and its basic gameplay mechanics leave me feeling what could have been had more time been pumped into this release. REBirth Of Souls is a rough diamond that sadly, probably didn't have the budget to match the ambition.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls is great fighter that can stand on its own thanks to its unique approach and gameplay to the genre. The game offers a decent roster of 30+ characters out of the box, gameplay is easy to pick up and hard to master, and there’s enough gameplay content to keep players busy for months. Despite Story mode feeling more like a watching an anime (felt like 40% playing, 60% watching) and burying the shop under layers of menus in story mode, the gameplay is solid enough to sink its teeth into players. If you’re a long time fighting genre player or looking for some different, Bleach Rebirth of Souls is a must play.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls manages to be a stylish 3D fighting game that interprets the original work well and is able to explore in great detail the main arcs of its plot before what is currently being adapted into an anime. Its main bottleneck is the lack of diversity of modes and a more robust online that encourages players to remain active, but for those who want to relive the nostalgia of Tite Kubo's creation, the game hits the nail on the head with its story mode and the mechanical construction of its combat.

BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is the definitive video game experience for the franchise, but that doesn't mean it's a success. Although it offers a good adaptation of the anime as far as possible, as well as a combat system that's different from other arena fighters, the game has several flaws, such as its dated graphics, poor optimization on PC, lack of game modes, and an online mode that didn't work in my experience. Even with all these problems, it's possible that the experience will please longtime fans, even if it's far from perfect.

Packed with fan service, you can spend hundreds of hours mastering your favourite characters thanks to the fun gameplay, with more content to come via DLC. The latest game adaptation of Bleach is a solid entry for the franchise and as a fighting game. Whether it will stand the test of time remains to be seen, but the potential is there, and it has a solid base that can be built upon for updates and future games. BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is a real love letter to the manga, the anime and most importantly, the fans.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls is the first Bleach Game in a long time. Unfortunately this is not the winning formula for this anime. For the fans there is some entertainment to get out of the game, but not enough to keep your weeks busy. That is why Bleach Rebirth of Souls gets a 6 for the effort.
