SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a good platformer. It has some solid mechanics that keep it fun to play and are utilized in a variety of ways, which helps them not outstay their welcome. While the story backing it up isn't too interesting, the familiar characters definitely help boost it for any SpongeBob fans out there. It's also a fair price for an adventure that will last most players close to the 10-hour mark, if you take some time out to do some of the side quests. Performance on the Steam Deck isn't as good as I'd hoped for a game like this, but most areas will run at 60 FPS. However, expect some dips in a couple of environments, particularly during cutscenes. The game remains fully playable and enjoyable, despite these dips, and I have no problem recommending it for players to enjoy primarily on a Steam Deck.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is kind of like comfort food for 3D platforming fans. Even if you aren’t a fan of the TV series, it still delivers the kind of action you want with a minimum of fuss, and it’s not like you need to know the show very well to keep up with what’s going on. It wraps all that up in a solidly competent package, which means that if you’re a fan of the genre, you could do a lot worse than picking this up.

With a capital F for Fun, this aquatic adventure is filled with returning characters, call outs from the show and movies plus more than enough gags for you to soak up. Don’t expect anything too deep or inventive as this is still a short platformer for older kids. In saying that, if you’re looking for a chill game and was a fan of SpongeBob back in the noughties like me, then you’ll enjoy it as much as being a goofy Goober!

"SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide" is a visually impressive, modern remaster that features great humor and atmosphere, making it a worthwhile experience for fans, despite some gameplay flaws, such as a weak camera and simple combat.

This new return to Bikini Bottom confirms the excellent qualities of the series dedicated to Nickelodeon's mascot. SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is once again a fun and richly varied platform game, appealing to both fans of the franchise and lovers of the genre. A hilarious script blends with a duo of playable protagonists to make this chapter the most lively and dynamic ever, although perhaps anchored to an excessive classicism. If you enjoyed The Cosmic Shake, you can't miss the new adventure featuring the Flying Dutchman.

For long-time fans, it's a reminder that in the nearly 20 years since Battle for Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob is still among the best platformers around.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is the best SpongeBob game since Battle for Bikini Bottom, and in some respects, it’s even better. Purple Lamp finally has the mix of realness, smart mechanics, and expressive appeal that the series has been looking for for years.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a laid-back platformer with a steady rhythm. Swapping between SpongeBob and Patrick keeps things moving, and the world stays bright and easy to read. The game has a few short texture hitches and slower spots, but nothing that drags it down. If you are in the mood for something light and colourful, this one works well.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is the best SpongeBob game in years. It's polished, confident, and fun to play. It has everything fans love and makes the gameplay better in ways that used to hold the franchise back. The seamless tag-team system makes platforming better, the level design is full of new ideas, the graphics take SpongeBob to a new level of detail, and the pacing ensures that every moment feels important.

I do believe Titans of the Tide is a fun little game, but I highly recommend that you wait for a sale before purchasing it. Purple Lamp has certainly made noticeable marginal improvements since Cosmic Shake, but it’d be nice to see them try to make a game that is more fully-fledged in their next outing.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Giants of the Tides impressively demonstrates how much heart, humour and creativity can be packed into a modern 3D jump 'n' run game. Purple Lamp has once again delivered a lovingly crafted adventure that not only looks great, but also offers compelling gameplay. SpongeBob SquarePants: Giants of the Tides is definitely one of the best platformers of the year!

I’ve had a lot of fun playing SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. It captures the essence of the show perfectly, and Purple Lamp once again demonstrates their in-depth knowledge of the series with an abundance of references to it in both collectibles and story momen

I don’t think that SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is as memorable and impactful as The Cosmic Shake, but that’s a borderline unfair comparison. That game was just a shocking breath of fresh air that caught everyone off guard. Titans of the Tide maintains the same core gameplay loop, adds just a few new elements here and there, and has a slightly more focused approach in its spooky (but not really) ambience. That being said, it’s still a fantastic platformer well worth your time, and much better than the majority of 3D platformers released over the past few years.

Maintaining the high level of quality seen in previous titles, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide once again delivers a fun and engaging adventure. With very competent audiovisual production – especially the excellent dubbing – and really cool challenges – particularly in the platforming elements – we have one of those games that is a delight to play. Even though a few things could be better, it is still a great addition to your library, especially if you are a fan of the water-squirting yellow sponge.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a fun, familiar dip back into the world of Bikini Bottom packed with charm, ghostly goings on but a fair bit of repetition. It’s comfort food for the nostalgic, but if you’re looking for something fresh beneath the waves, you might not find much treasure here.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a mixed bag. On the one hand, the story and moment-to-moment platforming are a lot of fun, and it's always great to see the cast of the SpongeBob TV series return for a cartoon-styled adventure. On the other hand, the lack of innovation after The Cosmic Shake, the lackluster side quests, and boring levels put a dampener on the entire experience. If you're just starting out with the 3D platformer genre and love SpongeBob, this is the game for you. Otherwise, you may be better off waiting for a discount.
