Syberia - Remastered Reviews
Syberia remains one of the most unique graphic adventures ever created. On the one hand, the original has aged surprisingly well; on the other, this remaster suffers from some technical issues that prevent it from being considered the definitive version of the world imagined by Sokal. Despite these limitations, it remains a worthwhile experience, especially for those who have never played Syberia before.

Syberia Remastered is a heartfelt tribute to a timeless classic. Virtuallyz Gaming has carefully preserved Benoît Sokal's artistic vision - his style, colors, and rhythm - while giving the game a renewed elegance that stands the test of modern technology. A must-play for newcomers, and a meaningful, nostalgic return for long-time fans.

Syberia Remastered is definitely faithful to the spirit of the original version. Although this new version includes some welcome modernizations, it builds on the foundations of the 2002 title to bring players today a cult French point-and-click adventure story. However, it's a shame that Microids didn't take the step of remaking the game to push the concept further and perhaps avoid some of the clunky mechanics and technical flaws. Nevertheless, the game remains sincere and offers a nostalgic journey that is still worth checking out in 2025.

Favoring slow atmosphere over adventure and complexity, Syberia – Remastered puts some slight polish on a stone that never shone too bright to begin with.
A product of its time, revamped for the present, Syberia Remastered offers a sleeker look at the start of Kate Walker's adventures but loses a bit of the original's magic in the process.
Travel across the world looking for a missing toy maker in this cult classic remake.
Syberia Remastered is a work that walks a very fine line: on one side lies the need to restore visual dignity to a beloved classic, on the other the risk of clashing with the weight of Sokal's legacy. The result is a re-release that works, especially when it focuses on enhancing what was already there without pushing too far.

Syberia Remastered masterfully blends a classic foundation with modern technology, faithfully honoring Benoît Sokal's original creation. While it has its minor imperfections, the game stands as a remarkable achievement by the development team. This beloved classic now breathes anew, introducing its unique world to a new generation. The original could have lived a long life on its own, but this Remaster brings it one step closer to eternity.
Kate Walker has undergone a rejuvenation treatment and returns to the beginning of her journey. She is as charming as ever, and the story is still engaging and entertaining.

An amazing adventure story remastered in a slightly odd way, Syberia Remastered is not the definitive Syberia experience in its current form. The bugs and issues are overwhelming, but will hopefully be quickly patched up so it can function as intended. The new artwork and environments are excellent, managing to recapture the original art style and atmosphere of Syberia overall, but there are too many negative points to ignore. The core story will keep players invested, but perhaps Microids will need to go back to the drawing board on some of the ideas seen in this title before approaching Syberia 2.
A great way to revisit the first Syberia
A beautiful story that didn't get a perfect refresh. The creators could have tried harder.

Syberia - Remastered is a classic adventure game and this new iteration certainly delivers a unique clockpunk aesthetic that the series is known for. It's still difficult to move around and there are bugs but if you're a fan of adventure games, you'll be happy to play this. 🤖
Syberia Remastered does a respectable job of blending classic adventure design with modern technical upgrades, honoring Benoît Sokal’s legacy while introducing his world to a new generation of players. Unfortunately, noticeable shortcomings - stiff animations, cutscene issues, and inconsistent audio mixing - undermine the experience more than they should.

For returning fans, it’s the perfect way to revisit Kate Walker’s journey — now more beautiful, more accessible, and more respectful than ever. For newcomers, it’s a piece of gaming history worth experiencing, as long as you’re ready for a reflective, story-first adventure rather than a puzzle gauntlet.
As a complete package, Syberia Remastered lands in a very good spot. It respects the 2002 adventure while giving it sharper graphics, better camera work and modern quality of life tweaks on PS5.
Syberia Remastered does not aim to transform itself into something it never was. Its goal is to recapture the spark of the classic and present it in a cleaner way for today's players.

Syberia Remastered feels at times like a somewhat lazy effort, redeemable more for the merits of the original than for its own. The 3D overhaul highlights the setting and characters without betraying Benoît Sokal’s original spirit, making the game accessible to a new audience as well. However, some technical and design choices are questionable, from the non-remastered cutscenes to a series of issues throughout. There is a lingering sense of disappointment about what this product could have been with a full remake that truly did justice to a timeless classic.

Syberia Remastered certainly is Remastered, telling the same story with some fantastic newly realised visuals. Unfortunately, it’s unevenly upgraded, somehow more technically unsound than the original and suffers from the lack of remastering afforded to video and sound.
