Syberia Remastered is a heartfelt tribute to a timeless classic. Virtuallyz Gaming has carefully preserved Benoît Sokal's artistic vision - his style, colors, and rhythm - while giving the game a renewed elegance that stands the test of modern technology. A must-play for newcomers, and a meaningful, nostalgic return for long-time fans.

Favoring slow atmosphere over adventure and complexity, Syberia – Remastered puts some slight polish on a stone that never shone too bright to begin with.

A product of its time, revamped for the present, Syberia Remastered offers a sleeker look at the start of Kate Walker's adventures but loses a bit of the original's magic in the process.

Syberia Remastered is a work that walks a very fine line: on one side lies the need to restore visual dignity to a beloved classic, on the other the risk of clashing with the weight of Sokal's legacy. The result is a re-release that works, especially when it focuses on enhancing what was already there without pushing too far.

Syberia Remastered masterfully blends a classic foundation with modern technology, faithfully honoring Benoît Sokal's original creation. While it has its minor imperfections, the game stands as a remarkable achievement by the development team. This beloved classic now breathes anew, introducing its unique world to a new generation. The original could have lived a long life on its own, but this Remaster brings it one step closer to eternity.

Kate Walker has undergone a rejuvenation treatment and returns to the beginning of her journey. She is as charming as ever, and the story is still engaging and entertaining.

An amazing adventure story remastered in a slightly odd way, Syberia Remastered is not the definitive Syberia experience in its current form. The bugs and issues are overwhelming, but will hopefully be quickly patched up so it can function as intended. The new artwork and environments are excellent, managing to recapture the original art style and atmosphere of Syberia overall, but there are too many negative points to ignore. The core story will keep players invested, but perhaps Microids will need to go back to the drawing board on some of the ideas seen in this title before approaching Syberia 2.

A beautiful story that didn't get a perfect refresh. The creators could have tried harder.

Syberia - Remastered is a classic adventure game and this new iteration certainly delivers a unique clockpunk aesthetic that the series is known for. It's still difficult to move around and there are bugs but if you're a fan of adventure games, you'll be happy to play this. 🤖

Syberia Remastered certainly is Remastered, telling the same story with some fantastic newly realised visuals. Unfortunately, it’s unevenly upgraded, somehow more technically unsound than the original and suffers from the lack of remastering afforded to video and sound.

A beautifully updated take on a modern classic: the remaster shines with refreshed visuals, refined controls and the original voice cast. While the charm and story of the original remain intact, a few rough edges (persistent bugs, unchanged cinematics) keep it from being flawless. Still a strong recommendation.

There is a good game inside this remaster and if this was your only option then the package is actually pretty solid.

A remaster that doesn't add much to the Syberia legend, despite its visual upgrade. It may be impressively beautiful at times, but due to its sloppy implementation and the dubious quality of the changes made to appeal to a younger audience, as a whole it fails to reach the level of the title we played in 2002.

Syberia Remastered feels like someone bought a shack, added a new sign, and called it a renovation. The smoother controls are welcome, but leaving the CGI untouched and no new voice acting means it never escapes the early-2000s feel. It’s a shame as there’s a wonderful atmosphere buried beneath and with a bit more care, it could’ve been special. Instead it a decent effort that polishes the past but never fully revitalises it. Even so, I still found a curious mix of old and new that’s easy to appreciate for it’s time but hard to love through modern eyes. For its half-baked execution, I’m just about awarding Syberia Remastered the Thumb Culture Silver Award.

If you enjoyed Syberia in 2002, this is the best way to experience it again. If you’ve never heard of Syberia before this, it might not hit the same way. There is a compelling story, world, and cast of characters at the heart of Syberia - Remastered, however, it’s hard to recommend to everyone. Not all modern players will have the patience to get through Kate Walker’s clunky movement, the puzzles that will have you repetitively running back and forth, and the easy-to-miss objects and interactions that will frustrate you and slow you down. This is certainly the ultimate way to play Syberia now, but I’m not sure everyone will want to.

Syberia Remastered successfully brings a beloved classic to a modern audience while preserving its core gameplay. However, it suffers from several technical issues and design choices that detract from the original’s atmospheric charm. The puzzles, though easier than before, still feel somewhat outdated from a modern perspective.
