Syberia - Remastered Reviews
Overall this world of cogs and cobblestone roads is intriguing. I personally am a fan of the story despite the issues. If you can get past the mechanics and the lulls you can actually really enjoy this title. The puzzles are not as impossible as they used to be and the updated graphics are definitely more attention grabbing.
Syberia – Remastered does a good job of preserving the old while adding new elements. It doesn't attempt to alter the original's formula or address every problem, which is both a good and bad thing.
Syberia – Remastered is a great achievement, even though there are some small problems with the animations, some clipping, and some choices that don’t match the style of the original. It presents Syberia to a new generation of gamers and lets old players relive the journey in a way that is more immersive, polished, and emotionally powerful.
Syberia Remastered takes us back twenty-two years to the role of Kate Walker, ready to embark on her icy adventure in search of the mystery of the Voralberg. The story is as magnificent as ever, and Microids has also offered us a decent improvement in the graphics department, but this re-release is not without its problems, especially on the technical side. Interpenetration, invisible walls and a particularly unstable build plague the title, compromising the overall experience.

If you missed Syberia years ago or are a new adventure game fan, there has never been a better opportunity to dive into this fascinating steampunk Art Nouveau universe.
Syberia Remastered is a well-crafted remake that builds on a strong original, giving it a much-needed facelift and a more modern look. It’s just a pity about the numerous bugs and technical issues that detract from an otherwise very good impression.

Syberia - Remastered is successful re-release (especially visually) that remains faithful to the original, though it could perhaps have been refined a bit more towards a modern gameplay experience. However, in my book, the points of criticism are so minor that they don’t spoil the experience at all. On the contrary: even in its remastered form, Syberia remains one of the finest works of its genre from the 2000s. Hopefully the sequel will receive an equally polished treatment in the future, as the first game famously ends on quite a cliffhanger.

Syberia Remastered is nice to look at, yet painful to play. Best appreciated as a piece of gaming history, not as something you’d actually want to play today.
