Kirby Air Riders is a racing game packed with tons of content, but the gameplay itself could have been better. However, if you don't mind the strange decisions regarding the controls, you'll find a game here that was created with passion. If you're someone who loves to max out games, you'll be in heaven here.

Kirby Air Riders is a fantastic follow-up to a GameCube classic. The racing is deceptively complex with a high skill ceiling.
Kirby Air Riders values itself as a toy as much as a racer. It might sound like a backhanded compliment, but it’s an ideal racing game for anyone who quickly grows bored of most racers. You can take it seriously, but it’s also a box of ideas to play with and jump between as you please. Fun comes foremost. If Mario Kart World is a full meal, Kirby Air Riders is a desert-only sugar rush of bite-size delights. Yet somehow, it didn’t leave me feeling sick afterwards.
Kirby Air Riders is a very personal work by Masahiro Sakurai: polished, varied, and with surprising gameplay that turns two simple inputs into races full of precision and technique. It's unique, a lot of fun, and full of brilliant ideas, but it's also a heterogeneous game whose content may not appeal to everyone equally. It's a very special video game in the Switch 2 catalog.

Kirby Air Riders is further proof that Masahiro Sakurai and his team just can’t go wrong. The racing mechanics are incredibly satisfying, there’s no shortage of content to enjoy, and it always feels like you’re accomplishing something and unlocking new things. Even if you’re not too into racing games, I implore you to give Kirby Air Riders a try, as it’s fun in its purest form.

After having played Kirby Air Riders for myself, though, I’ve come to realize that I don’t think I missed very much from this series. While it features stellar presentation, gorgeous maps, and a simplistic control scheme that just about anyone can pick up and play, Air Riders often feels shallow and gets stale after playing for only a few hours.
Kirby Air Riders delivers an unusual, combat-focused approach to kart racing, offering far more content than you’d normally expect from the genre. Unfortunately, it sometimes throws in a bit too much chaos and explosions, which can be hard to follow with the limited control.

Kirby Air Riders shakes up the kart racing genre in a massively refreshing way, and has a ridiculous amount of content to explore.
Whether you're a fan of Kirby, racing games, or just games that are flat-out satisfying to experience, you need to give Kirby Air Riders a shot as soon as possible.
Kirby Air Riders highlights Nintendo's interesting decision to not only rely on heavy hitters, but also to build on concepts that it had neglected for years.

Kirby Air Riders is an intense, fast-paced racing and battling game, with additional challenges to add variety. The price point may be restrictive for casual gamers, so I hope they introduce a demo and GameShare, so that more can experience the joys and thrills that Kirby Air Riders offers. If racing is your happy place, then it’s probably Two Thumbs Up. For me, there was enough to be greatly entertained, with the racing being challenging at points, but not so hard to make me feel incompetent.
Kirby Air Riders may not be perfect, but this ambitious sequel fixes the original’s flaws, adds depth, variety, and chaotic satisfaction through modes like Road Trip and City Trial, delivers strong visuals and music on Switch 2, and stands as a worthy successor—highly recommended for arcade-racer fans seeking more than standard karting, though those wanting something simpler are still better off with Mario Kart.

Kirby Air Riders doesn’t just bring back a cult classic; it elevates it to feel essential once more. This is Sora & Bandai at their most confident, blending nostalgia with modern polish and delivering a package that feels both familiar and refreshing.
I knew I’d like Kirby Air Riders, since I enjoyed the original, but I didn’t expect it to feel stronger than Mario Kart World. Switch 2 version reviewed. Review copy provided by company for testing purposes.
Plenty of modes, plenty of unlocks, this is a full and fun package of wild racing.
Although Kirby Air Riders will hardly be remembered as a true classic in years to come, it does offer a lot of fun, especially in good company.

Kirby Air Riders delivers fun and chaos in its purest form. While the chaos often stands out and there's a feeling that some modes could have offered more content, the attention to detail and the sheer number of options, both functional and gameplay-wise, that the game offers is undeniable. Both fans of the original title and new racers will have plenty to enjoy in this sequel.

Kirby Air Riders starts out looking simple, but the game opens up fast once you learn how its machines really handle. Each mode brings something different without drifting away from the core idea of shaping speed instead of wrestling with it. The variety, depth, and steady stream of things to try make it easy to keep coming back. It’s a bright and fast racer with more going on than you expect at first glance.
