MARVEL Cosmic Invasion Reviews
Not only was MARVEL Cosmic Invasion more than worth the wait, it’s easily the best beat ’em up I’ve played all year. It’s clear Tribute Games is amazing at this genre, and they seem to be improving with age. This is a colorful, creative and varied experience with lasting replay value. While it wasn’t quite perfect, assuming that glitch I encountered gets fixed, you can add another .5 to the overall rating. This is a wonderful adventure, and one every Marvel true believer has to play.
A fun game that will give you a few hours of light entertainment, especially when playing with friends, with co-op for up to 4 players offline or even online. Tribute Games makes us smile once again, even if €30 is a bit much for what it actually offers: they could have done more.

The game features a diverse roster of 15 unique heroes and stages in iconic locations with vibrant graphics. It is gaming in its purest form: simple, engaging, and brilliant.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an excellent beat 'em up, but an even better love letter to the Marvel universe. Even with a few balance issues, it is one of the most approachable games in this genre and stands out for its style and combat mechanics.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion translates the epic scope of the comics into a modern beat 'em up with a classic feel. A carefully curated and varied selection of heroes, well-designed mechanics, abundant unlockable content, and top-notch audiovisuals make each match a playable tribute worthy of the House of Ideas.

Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge before it, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is another wonderful love letter to the quarter devouring beat ‘em ups of the past. While it might not be breaking new ground, the changes to traditional beat ‘em up gameplay are fun and make squishing screens and screens of bugs a delight.
Fun and nostalgic, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an adventure worthy of the great heroes of the galaxy, reviving the glory of the golden age of gaming through extremely satisfying gameplay.

Not only is Marvel Cosmic Invasion a fun brawler to play through alone or with some friends, it's also a love letter to the 90s era of Marvel Comics that I grew up with.
Tribute were clearly paying attention to the criticisms of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge because despite its greatness, there were shortcomings and every one of them has been corrected and everything else has been improved. With a massive infusion of modern gameplay and a lengthy roster full of variety, Marvel Cosmic Invasion strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and modernity in one of the best beat em ups of the year. If you’re a fan of classic beat em ups, 90’s or Marvel, Cosmic Invasion is pure nirvana
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is an entertaining and fun title that delivers a vintage experience, making us feel like each of Earth's strongest heroes.

Overall, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a great addition to the beat-em-up genre. While not quite reaching the heights of other recent greats like Streets of Rage 4 or TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Tribute Games still developed a wonderful game that will keep you and your friends entertained for hours. I’m excited for the future of the game, and if Shredder’s Revenge post-game support is anything to go by, we’re in for plenty of treats regarding future character additions and updates. Marvel Cosmic Invasion is insanely fun to play and definitely worthy of your time.
One of the best Marvel Comics-related games we've ever played. It pays homage to the classic beat 'em ups of the genre's golden age, but with modern elements that make it much more fun to play than you ever imagined it would be.

Just about everything about Marvel Cosmic Invasion is so smooth and sublime, I fear it may have ruined my ability to go back and play some of my favorite genre classics like Streets of Rage 2 and Knights of the Round—it's just that good.
“Marvel Cosmic Invasion is another modern meets retro classic under the Dotemu umbrella. It offers classic comic-book violence with an arcade feel, and a bucket-load of fan service for Marvel fans to look out for as they attempt to save the cosmos. However, above all, the hero tag-team feature feels like a revolution, making even single player runs feel like co-op chaos, which is also an option if you fancy it. It lacks a truly spectacular narrative, and could do with bespoke difficulty settings, but all in all, this is a superb Beat-em-up that does Stan Lee's band of freaks proud.”
Marvel Cosmic Invasion lives up to the rich history of superhero beat ’em up games. Full of charm and plenty of depth, it winds up being a blast whether you’re playing alone or with a group of friends.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a very simple beat 'em up that offers immediate fun without much fuss. It boasts a fantastic cast of playable characters and lots of love for the comic book universe, despite a mediocre story loosely inspired by the Annihilation saga. Veteran gamers might be disappointed by the lack of difficulty, few incentives to use different strategies, and lack of innovation in a genre that is becoming increasingly repetitive.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a 2D beat 'em up that perfectly captures the spirit of classic arcades, enriched by nostalgic pixel art and a cast of iconic superheroes well characterized. The campaign offers an enjoyable experience with a good dose of fan service, which is amplified by the use of co-op play. However, after yet another game of this genre from Dotemu, the need for something new in terms of gameplay begins to be felt, and the Cosmic Swap mechanic alone is not enough to ward off the specter of the typical repetitiveness of the genre. Furthermore, the longevity is rather short and does not help the low replay value keep the game memorable on one’s console after completing the campaign.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is more than just an homage or a game propped up by nostalgia; it’s a game that not only explores characters who are far from the company’s spotlight, but also delivers a co-op-focused experience with relatively robust mechanics and an incredible amount of content for fans.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion delivers fast, fun action with only a few hiccups. Despite these stumbles coming with some of its biggest moments, the game still offers a lot of good times, especially if you are a Marvel fan.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion delivers on its promise: a soulful tribute to the Marvel Universe wrapped in a competent, if a bit by-the-book beat ’em up package. Dynamic combos flow effortlessly, seamless co-op supports up to four players with drop-in/drop-out, stunning sprite work captures comic authenticity, and the OST fits the controlled chaos perfectly. Adding one or two more game modes could cement its longevity beyond the short campaign.
