Reigns: The Witcher Reviews
A casual timewaster for people who are into the Witcher enough to get the references, but not married to the idea every Witcher game has to be a big RPG.
If you're a fan of The Witcher, it's a great way to have a new experience in the world, and if you aren't a fan, then it's still a good time with some very dark and silly moments mixed in. Reigns: The Witcher is a great take on the world of The Witcher and is an enjoyable, new way to experience it.

Reigns: The Witcher is a simple game at its core, but it delivers a fresh, hilarious, sometimes tedious experience for Witcher fans.
Reigns: The Witcher is a semi-addictive entry into the Reigns series of games
PC is definitely not my number one choice to experience the new adventures of Geralt. Though the game captures the essence of CD Project Red's The Witcher series, at the end of the day, it's just a casual card adventure, not a full-blown RPG, and that will make it difficult to keep up with the experience longer than a short while.
It may not adhere strictly to canon but Reigns: The Witcher is an endlessly entertaining new way to experience the Geraltoverse. Just don't be surprised when death comes for you again, and again, and again.
Reigns: The Witcher is a fun and addictive mix of The Witcher's dark fantasy and the simple, swipe-based Reigns mechanics. It doesn't stray far from the series formula, so longtime fans will feel right at home. Quick decisions can lead to life, death, or chaos, and while the gameplay can feel repetitive at times, the variety of characters and outcomes keeps it engaging. Perfect for short sessions on mobile, though not particularly innovative.

Minimalist and faithful, the title adapts The Witcher’s moral choices to the Reigns system with addictive gameplay, a flawless soundtrack, and creative yet questionable combat.

Reigns: The Witcher brings the minimalist formula of Reigns to the world of the Witcher, thanks to a collaboration between Nerial and CD Projekt. The system remains faithful to the original: quick decisions are made by swiping through cards representing encounters, influencing relationships with humans, non-humans and wizards. Instead of economics, the fourth resource here is monsters, which trigger rhythm game-style combat. The narrative device is brilliant: you don't play the real Geralt, but a fictionalised version invented by Dandelion, with a deliberately ironic and over-the-top tone. 'Inspirations' modify rules and events, increasing replayability and variety. While tackling dark themes such as racism and violence, the game maintains a light-hearted approach, full of references and absurd situations, even if some Game Overs can be frustrating.

Reigns: The Witcher gives that weird little dopamine hit of gambling against all odds with significantly less real-world implications – maybe a little lost sleep and addiction, but redirected to a noble plight in Witcher work. For fans of the Witcher series and those looking for a short but moreish game to master, Reigns: The Witcher might be worth the fanfare.
Whether a fan of Geralt or simply love the Reigns franchise, Reigns: The Witcher makes every decision fun thanks to countless storylines and exciting gameplay.
Reigns: The Witcher is an alright entry in the world of The Witcher, with its charm and interesting gameplay, but it ultimately remains very forgettable.

Reigns: The Witcher is superbly well-written, and masterfully integrated into the world and lore of Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red’s works. It doesn’t feel like a cheap cashgrab. On the contrary, you can clearly see that Devolver, CDPR and Nerial worked together in order to come up with an engaging random story simulator that feels right at home in this world full of liars, deceivers, and terrible outcomes for everyone.
