Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
A thoroughly great action rpg. On pc it has near perfect fluidity and all the epicness of the xbox 360/ps3 edition. A valid alternative to Witcher 3 or Dark Souls, if one can withstand graphics that are not really on par to today's standards.

A fairly lacklustre remaster does nothing to diminish what makes Dragon's Dogma such a unique and memorable role-playing game. For fans of western style action RPGs it's a must play.
It might not be a perfect package, but its old age certainly hasn't harmed Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen in the slightest.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen may be a few years old now, but the new PC version is still a blast to play.
What it offers though is a solid combat system backed up with enough different flavours, little moments of triumph, pats on the head and surprises amongst the very, very quickly familiar terrain to be compelling, like a big bowl of popcorn sprinkled with chocolate.
If anything, Dark Arisen reminds me just how much I missed my time with Dragon's Dogma, and how I'd love to see another one in the works. Here's hoping Gransys has more adventures for us in future!
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a worthy memorial to a criminally underrated title, and although it falters at times, the design, combat, scenery, and world this game molds is one that deserves preservation.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has already been released a handful of times on different consoles, and this port doesn't add anything new. The ability to play in handheld mode is great, but this version also comes with some pop-in and framerate drops not present in other releases. Still, it's worth it just to experience one of the most overlooked games of the decade again, or for the first time. If Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen's stellar combat, unique class system, and treacherous world hook you, its technical flaws are extremely easy to overlook.
Dragon's Dogma is a role-playing game that deserves to be appreciated. With so much content and depth, Dark Arisen is just as impressive as ever in the gameplay department. Few would've expected a Japanese developer like Capcom to release a "Western-style" action-RPG that could hold its own against the Elder Scrolls and Witcher series, but that's exactly what happened.
